We are looking for a\u00a0Project Engineer – Bulk Material Handling\u00a0to spearhead the creation and refinement of technical data, engineering designs, and specifications for bulk material handling infrastructure throughout South Africa\u2019s port network.
\n\tThis pivotal role ensures that engineering outputs are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable standards across all stages of project execution\u2014from initial concept and design through to procurement, construction, and final commissioning. The Project Engineer will be instrumental in embedding technical excellence throughout the entire project lifecycle.
\n\tAs a Project Engineer, you will take the lead in developing and optimizing technical documentation, engineering drawings, and design specifications for bulk material handling systems. Your expertise will be vital in driving engineering quality across refurbishment, upgrade, and retrofit initiatives within South African port facilities.

\tYou will join the Invoicing Team and work closely with internal \/external stakeholders, such as\u00a0Management, Suppliers, Sub-Contractors, Clients, Supply\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0Sales\u00a0Team.<\/p>\n
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
\tPerform and review calculations to ensure safe function of equipment for refurbishment, upgrade, or retrofit
\n\tPrepare and review project and product engineering design drawings and documents
\n\tComplete process and mechanical engineering design calculations
\n\tPrepare and review engineering specifications and data sheets
\n\tDevelop and review quality plans and equipment Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
\n\tCreate and validate functional design specification packages
\n\tPrepare and review technical installation, operation, and maintenance manuals
\n\tDraft and assess commissioning and start-up procedures
\n\tCoordinate with procurement and vendors to ensure technical compliance of purchased equipment
\n\tSupport project scheduling and cost estimation with accurate engineering inputs
\n\tParticipate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability assessments
\n\tEnsure compliance with relevant international and local engineering codes and standards
\n\tProvide technical support during fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases
\n\tCollaborate with QA\/QC, HSE, and project management teams to ensure integrated project delivery
\n\tContribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
\n\tMaintain accurate and organized engineering documentation and revision control<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tHold a Technical Degree or higher in Engineering
\n\tPossess 6\u20138 years of experience in engineering roles, preferably within bulk material handling or industrial infrastructure
\n\tProficient in 2D and 3D CAD software
\n\tFamiliar with SAP and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts
\n\tStrong understanding of Engineering Data Management (EDM) systems
\n\tKnowledgeable in relevant international codes and standards
\n\tCapable of organizing and planning your own work with limited supervision<\/p>\n
