Job Purpose<\/p>\n
\tCreating a Finance Shared Service strategy together with the Finance Director and the CFO Lead the financial shared services teams to operate effectively, while driving performance aligned with strategy in action and supporting the broader team in meeting business goals.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Strategic and Technical Contribution<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in the formulation and implementation of the Finance strategy, based on a 2 to 5-year view of requirements.
\n\tProvide strategic input to business goals.
\n\tEnsure that assigned and agreed strategic targets are operationalized and achieved.
\n\tDefine and agree Service Level Agreements (SLA\u2019s) with all internal customers, including KPI\u2019s and manage performance.
\n\tEnsure that the shared service activities are performed in a robust financial control environment.
\n\tPlan and develop best practices, systems, processes, and procedures to enable continued improvement that meets the needs in times of change.
\n\tParticipate in ERP steering committees to ensure alignment and practical achievement of project goals.
\n\tEnsure adherence to Corporate Policy and Internal Control procedures for Accounts Payable, accounts receivables and Fixed Assets and GL.
\n\tDevelop and maintain key relationships with key customers \u2013 internal and external.
\n\tFocus on customer service and satisfaction, including regularly publishing metrics such as quality, controls, performance improvement insights, and engage with stakeholders regularly.<\/p>\n
Financial Accounting<\/p>\n
\tOversee and manage IFRS compliance.
\n\tEnsure that the Accounts Payable, accounts receivables and Fixed Assets, and GL. Functions are maintained according to policy and IFRS.
\n\tEnsure that monthly general ledger reconciliations are completed and reconciling items resolved.
\n\tEnsure that the monthly close-off of accounts fairly reflects the monthly results of the organization.
\n\tPerform the functions associated with being a bank signatory.<\/p>\n
Creditor Management<\/p>\n
\tOversee the management of all creditors including stock and nonstock.
\n\tEnsure all supplier accounts are reconciled and paid according to terms and agreed pricing conditions.
\n\tDrive analytics to improve efficiency, insight, and performance.<\/p>\n
Accounts Receivable<\/p>\n
\tOversee the credit control process, including setting credit limits and payment terms and management of all claims.
\n\tConduct risk assessments and evaluate customer credit profiles.
\n\tManage collections and resolve payment issues efficiently.
\n\tDevelop and enforce credit policies and procedures.
\n\tCollaborate with other functional areas \/ teams to support business objectives.
\n\tEnsure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
\n\tPrepare regular reports on credit performance and risk exposure.<\/p>\n
Asset Management<\/p>\n
\tOversee the management of the fixed assets across all sites.
\n\tEnsure the assets are fairly reported in SAP through periodic asset verifications and compliance with IFRS principles.
\n\tEnsure appropriate wear and tear and depreciation rates are applied consistently and in line with IFRS principals and current tax legislation.
\n\tEnsure that Fixed asset movements are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
\n\tEnsure that the WIP accounts are reviewed and actioned on a monthly basis.
\n\tReview fixed asset reconciliations.<\/p>\n
Statutory Compliance<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in the statutory financial close-off.
\n\tManage and oversee that the required interim and year-end reporting schedules are completed.
\n\tLiaise with internal and external auditors.
\n\tProvide input regarding compliance with company law in conjunction with the legal department thereby ensuring compliance with commercial law and legislation generally.<\/p>\n
Internal Control<\/p>\n
\tContinuously identify and pursue opportunities to improve control procedures throughout the business.
\n\tFollow up on audit queries and ensure that corrective action is taken by the responsible teams.
\n\tEnsure compliance with approved procedures by means of control checks performed by the finance team.<\/p>\n
Staff Management<\/p>\n
\tManage all teams and collaborate effectively.
\n\tLead and develop staff within the context of the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Skills Development Act.
\n\tMonitor staff performance and provide regular feedback.
\n\tManage staff activities, ensuring service levels are met and protocols are adhered to.
\n\tCoach and support staff, where necessary, to achieve objectives.
\n\tManage staff leave and general time management issues in line with organizational deliverables and standards.
\n\tManage and deliver on succession plans to enable the development of a future generation of leaders and specialists and ensure optimal turnover and retention levels are maintained.
\n\tConduct regular performance appraisals with subordinates.
\n\tEstablish sound staff and labor organizing and communication structures and systems.
\n\tDevelop and manage high performance multidisciplinary teams in order to solve problems within the commercial arena.
\n\tConduct regular meetings and ensure that records are kept and shared across the team and that action plans agreed to within team meetings are delivered upon.<\/p>\n

Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
\tMatric (Grade 12).
\n\tMust be a registered CA(SA).
\n\t10 years\u2019 experience, 5 of which a senior level, managing large teams.
\n\tSAP experience would be advantageous.
\n\tExperience in leading large teams and effectively collaborating.<\/p>\n
