Triage & Technical Review<\/p>\n
\tTriage all litigated and pre-litigated matters referred by the Rapid CEO.
\n\tReview indemnity and liability assessments for alignment with policy terms, legal principles, and risk appetite.
\n\tIdentify matters requiring escalation, early intervention, or external legal involvement.
\n\tProvide clear, practical recommendations on indemnity, liability exposure, and next step.<\/p>\n
Legal & Technical Correspondence<\/p>\n
Draft high-quality correspondence to insureds, brokers, claimants, and external stakeholders relating to:<\/p>\n
\tIndemnity decisions
\n\tLiability positions
\n\tCoverage clarifications
\n\tStrategic and procedural updates
\n\tEnsure all communication is legally sound, commercially appropriate, and aligned with brand standards.
\n\tSupport the CEO by preparing communications for review and sign-off.<\/p>\n
Litigated Claims Administration<\/p>\n
Manage the administrative lifecycle of litigated files, including:<\/p>\n
\tFile setup and structuring
\n\tDocumentation management
\n\tOngoing review and status tracking
\n\tMonitor and communicate key deadlines, risks, and developments.<\/p>\n
Executive Support & Reporting<\/p>\n
Provide concise, forward-looking updates to the Rapid CEO, including:<\/p>\n
\tCurrent claim status
\n\tEmerging risks
\n\tUpcoming decision points
\n\tAnticipate issues and proactively brief on potential outcomes and strategies.
\n\tMaintain audit-ready file notes and documentation in line with governance standards.<\/p>\n
Collaboration & Capability Uplift<\/p>\n
\tAct as a technical advisor to Claims Consultants on complex matters.
\n\tPromote consistency in approach across claims without assuming operational ownership.
\n\tContribute to improving claims processes, templates, and legal risk frameworks.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMatric \/ National Senior Certificate.
\n\tLegal training or tertiary legal qualification (LLB or equivalent \u2013 admission not required)
\n\tMinimum 3 years\u2019 experience in insurance, with exposure to commercial B2B lines, preferably in Professional Indemnity and\/or General Liability.
\n\tExperience with pre-litigated and litigated claims.
\n\tStrong understanding of policy interpretation, indemnity, and liability principles.
\n\tExceptional written communication skills, particularly in legal drafting.
\n\tStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage complex files and competing priorities.<\/p>\n
Preferred Experience & Attributes<\/p>\n
\tExperience working closely with senior executives or in an advisory capacity.
\n\tFamiliarity with claims systems and structured file governance.
\n\tHigh attention to detail with strong legal and commercial judgment.
\n\tProactive, solutions-focused, and forward-thinking.
\n\tAbility to perform under pressure, remaining composed and decisive in a fast-paced environment.<\/p>\n
