Manager in driving the performance, growth, and governance of the Distribution Division by ensuring that recurring premium, single premium, and group scheme sales targets are achieved through effective leadership of sales teams, development of distribution channels, and execution of strategic sales initiatives.<br \/>\n\tThe role ensures sustainable production growth, talent development, regulatory compliance, and strong stakeholder relationships across the region.<\/p>\n<p>MAIN OUTPUTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n<p>Strategic Distribution Management<\/p>\n<p>\tProvide input into the regional and national sales strategy.<br \/>\n\tImplement and maintain the Distribution Strategic Plan.<br \/>\n\tEnsure achievement of Annual Premium Income (API), policy count, and product mix targets.<br \/>\n\tMonitor and drive production performance across distribution channels.<br \/>\n\tAlign regional distribution execution with organisational strategic objectives.<\/p>\n<p>Budget Planning and Financial Oversight<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop and manage the Divisional Sales Budget.<br \/>\n\tEnsure efficient allocation and utilisation of resources.<br \/>\n\tMonitor production costs and expense management.<br \/>\n\tEnsure divisional operations remain within approved financial parameters.<\/p>\n<p>Distribution Channel Development<\/p>\n<p>\tLead the recruitment, development, and retention of sales talent.<br \/>\n\tDevelop sustainable distribution channels including brokers and financial advisors.<br \/>\n\tCoach and support Sales Managers and Broker Consultants.<br \/>\n\tEnsure productivity, capability development, and succession readiness across the distribution structure.<\/p>\n<p>Market Development and Expansion<\/p>\n<p>\tIdentify and develop new markets and business opportunities.<br \/>\n\tConduct research to identify potential growth segments and distribution opportunities.<br \/>\n\tDevelop strategic initiatives to increase market penetration.<\/p>\n<p>Negotiate and implement commercial stop-order facilities with institutions and organisations.<\/p>\n<p>\tSales and Marketing Administration<br \/>\n\tProvide leadership and direction in regional sales meetings.<br \/>\n\tLiaise with Marketing and Sales Administration teams.<br \/>\n\tOversee business submission processes.<br \/>\n\tEnsure accurate reporting and feedback on production activities.<br \/>\n\tSupport marketing initiatives aligned with regional growth objectives.<\/p>\n<p>Performance Reporting<\/p>\n<p>\tProvide regular sales progress reports to the Regional Manager.<br \/>\n\tMonitor key performance indicators including:<br \/>\n\tProduction<br \/>\n\tConversion ratios<br \/>\n\tPolicy retention<br \/>\n\tDistribution productivity<br \/>\n\tProvide insights and recommendations to improve performance.<\/p>\n<p>FAIS Governance and Regulatory Compliance<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements including:<br \/>\n\tFAIS Fit and Proper Requirements<br \/>\n\tFSCA Board Notice 194<br \/>\n\tRegulatory Examination standards<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsuring brokers and representatives have a clear understanding of products.<br \/>\n\tMonitoring regulatory compliance across the distribution network.<br \/>\n\tEnsuring Financial Advisors meet licensing and competency requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Compliance and Risk Management<\/p>\n<p>Ensure adherence to compliance and governance standards including:<\/p>\n<p>\tComplaints Management<br \/>\n\tMonitor complaints received.<br \/>\n\tOversee investigations and escalation processes.<br \/>\n\tManage referrals for forensic investigation.<br \/>\n\tParticipate in debarment processes where required.<br \/>\n\tTraining and Compliance Awareness<br \/>\n\tProduct training<br \/>\n\tRefresher training<br \/>\n\tRegulatory awareness<br \/>\n\tAdvice Quality<br \/>\n\tRecord of Advice compliance<br \/>\n\tFinancial Needs Analysis completion<br \/>\n\tAccurate application documentation<\/p>\n<p>Leadership and Culture<\/p>\n<p>\tLead by example in demonstrating organisational values.<br \/>\n\tComply with risk management and audit requirements.<br \/>\n\tPromote ethical and responsible business practices.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<p>JOB EVALUATION CRITERIA<\/p>\n<p>KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS<\/p>\n<p>\tFormal Education<br \/>\n\tMatric \/ Grade 12<br \/>\n\t120 credits on NQF Level 5 or a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree recognised by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA)<br \/>\n\tTechnical \/ Legal Certification<br \/>\n\tRegulatory Examination Level 5 \u2013 Representatives (RE5)<br \/>\n\tRegulatory Examination Level 1 \u2013 Key Individuals (RE1)<\/p>\n<p>Experience<\/p>\n<p>\tMinimum 5 years experience in the insurance industry<br \/>\n\tMinimum 3 years sales management experience<br \/>\n\tMinimum 2 years project or strategic initiative management<\/p>\n<p>OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n<p>\tValid driver\u2019s licence<br \/>\n\tWillingness to travel extensively within the region<br \/>\n\tAbility to work flexible hours when required<br \/>\n\tAbility to manage multiple sales offices and teams<br \/>\n\tStrong stakeholder engagement capability<br \/>\n\tExperience in managing broker and advisor distribution
