Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tThe most eligible candidate must be in possession of a Grade 12 plus a Traffic Officer Diploma\/Law Enforcement Certificate (Certified copy must be attached). 5 – 8 years\u2019 relevant experience required of which 2 – 3 years\u2019 must be supervisory experience. A valid code EB driver\u2019s License (Certified copy must be attached). No Criminal Record (Certified copy of Clearance Certificate). Must be in possession of an Examiner for Driving Licences Diploma (At Least a Grade B).<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas:<\/p>\n
\tConduct driving licence tests in accordance with K53 and applicable legislation\/Coordinates and controls the application of procedures associated with the vehicle\/ driver testing and registration or licensing
\n\tMaintain accurate test records and administrative documentation
\n\tEnsure integrity, fairness and transparency in all testing processes
\n\tAssist with the operation and control of the municipal test ground
\n\tConducts and\/ or checks eye testing equipment (Orthorator) functionality on completion of routine maintenance sequences
\n\tSupervising and exercising control over the duties, activities and discipline of the position.
\n\tPatrolling and observing the streets with his \/ her vehicle and attending to any traffic infringements, for
\n\texample the neglecting of traffic signs, illegal parking, etc.
\n\tTraffic Control & Traffic Law Enforcement
\n\tPerforming duties as prescribed in the National Land Transportation Act (NLTA)
\n\tRecord Road Traffic Crashes (RTC\u2019s) and register such at the SAPS to obtain a AR-No for reference purposes.
\n\tEnforcement of Municipal By-Law.
\n\tExecuting Warrants of Arrests (WoA) and preparing statemenis.
\n\tProvide emergency support function during disasters or emergency situations.
\n\tComplete specific reports, statutory documentation and registers.
\n\tImpounding of vehicles.
\n\tPresent Road Safety Awareness and Educational programs.
\n\tEnsure that inconvenience and\/or risks to safety are minimized through efficient handling of traffic congestions \/ bottlenecks.
\n\tDo specialized Traffic Policing.
