Strategy<\/p>\n
\tDrive the Division RDI strategy and operations, and develop plans for the\u00a0implementation of the strategy.
\n\tSupport the Division business development and commercialisation and manage the\u00a0execution of the strategic programmes.<\/p>\n
Financial Sustainability<\/p>\n
\tSecure the Division\u2019s Budget.
\n\tTo ensure that the Sub-units (Mine Closure and Rehabilitation; Mineral Economics & Artisanal and Small Scale Mining) produce the quality of work that generates revenue for stability.
\n\tBalance the RDI portfolio funding and commercial targets as agreed.
\n\tEnsure that there are effective inter-Divisional collaborations between Clusters to ensure that targets are met.<\/p>\n
People and Planning<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that the core RDI plans are aligned with Mintek\u2019s strategy and the needs of the\u00a0Cluster market.
\n\tEnsure that adequate Divisional planning is done to ensure effective delivery of the plans.
\n\tEnsure that there is an adequate pipeline of commercial and business leads to ensure that the Division can deliver on its targets.
\n\tEnsure that the Division is adequately resourced, with a particular focus on SET staff and resources. Also ensuring succession planning.
\n\tDrive the transformation agenda in the Division.
\n\tContribute to the refinement and development of the Cluster strategy and plans.<\/p>\n
Performance Management<\/p>\n
\tDeliver on the Division\u2019s key performance indicators (KPIs).
\n\tUndertake performance management for the Division.
\n\tEnsure that systems and tools are in place to monitor and measure the delivery of\u00a0RDI activities.<\/p>\n
Governance and Risk Management<\/p>\n
\tRisk profiling and mitigation activities for the Division\u2019s activities, including SHEQ.
\n\tAdhere to all Mintek\u2019s policies and ethics.<\/p>\n
Relationship Management and Reporting<\/p>\n
\tStakeholder engagement, including the development of relationships with new\u00a0stakeholders, stakeholder management and satisfaction for both internal and\u00a0external stakeholders.
\n\tReporting on all RDI activities in the Division.
\n\tCommercialisation and technology transfer management for the Division.
\n\tLead Co-development and Co-funding initiatives.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tMinimum Masters in Mining Engineering \/ Mineral Economics or relevant scientific field relating to the Division (Engineering or Science).
\n\tIdeal: PhD in a relevant scientific field relating to the Division (Engineering or Science).
\n\tAt least 10 years\u2019 experience in a research or knowledge-based organisations undertaking\u00a0research in theDivision.
\n\tOf which 5 years must be in a research management position.
\n\tExperience in financial, HR, business processes, marketing, operations and business\u00a0development.
\n\tExperience in business engagements and commercialisation activities.<\/p>\n
