OBJECTIVE OF ROLE<\/p>\n
\tThe IT Operational Excellence Lead is responsible for embedding disciplined, standardised, and value-driven workflows across IT-enabled initiatives. The role ensures that business and IT processes are clearly defined, optimised, and governed, technology solutions are adopted effectively and sustainably, expected business benefits are realised, tracked, and evidenced, and IT delivery practices are consistent, auditable, and repeatable. This role acts as a bridge between strategy and execution, ensuring that IT investments translate into measurable business outcomes, while strengthening governance, audit readiness, and operational maturity across IT.<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Process Excellence & Standardisation:<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse and document end-to-end IT processes
\n\tIdentify inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities
\n\tDefine and promote standardised, best-practice processes<\/p>\n
IT Enablement & Adoption:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure IT solutions are effectively adopted by users
\n\tSupport management, training, and communication activities
\n\tIdentify adoption risks early and recommend corrective actions<\/p>\n
Benefits Realisation & Value Tracking:<\/p>\n
\tDefine measurable benefits for IT and digital initiatives
\n\tTrack value realisation against approved business cases
\n\tEnsure outcomes are reported transparently<\/p>\n
Delivery Discipline & Governance Support:<\/p>\n
\tConsistent delivery practices across IT initiatives in accordance with GDT frameworks
\n\tEnsure initiatives follow agreed governance, controls, and standards
\n\tWork closely with all IT stakeholders to ensure compliance
\n\tAudit Readiness function for SA Commercial IT (Internal and External Audits)<\/p>\n
Continuous Improvement & Capability Building:<\/p>\n
\tPromote a culture of continuous improvement within IT and the business
\n\tIdentify repeat issues and systemic weaknesses
\n\tEmbed lessons learned into future initiatives<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\tMatric (Grade 12)
\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree in engineering, Information Systems and Business Process Management.
\n\tLean, Six Sigma, Agile, or similar methodologies (advantageous)<\/p>\n
\u00a0KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\t5+ years\u2019 experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or IT enablement roles
\n\tStrong exposure to digital transformation initiatives
\n\tExperience in organisations<\/p>\n
