the hub\/depot, thereby ensuring that productivity and performance are maximized.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Fleet Control<\/p>\n<p>\tManage the daily schedule.<br \/>\n\tCheck that a job card has been allocated to work and that the driver has managed to complete the form correctly.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that drivers complete the checklist every morning and afternoon to establish if there are any defaults.<br \/>\n\tRequest complaints and difficulties for the day and take the appropriate action.<br \/>\n\tMonitor transport performance against benchmarks by obtaining vehicle exception reports from the tracking department as a means of monitoring drivers\u2019 conduct and vehicle performance such as:<br \/>\n\tSpeeding.<br \/>\n\tExcessive revving or braking.<br \/>\n\tBackdoor standing time.<br \/>\n\tYard delays.<br \/>\n\tTake the necessary disciplinary action depending on the particular instance or trend.<br \/>\n\tBuild a culture of asset care through counselling discussions with staff,<br \/>\n\tparticularly drivers.<br \/>\n\tConsolidate, on an ongoing basis, accident\/incident reports that display each driver\u2019s conduct and make appropriate decisions on the sanction depending on the severity of the incident.<br \/>\n\tConduct physical checks on vehicles, identify areas that require attention and take the necessary action to resolve any issues.<br \/>\n\tAnalyze the details on the monthly vehicle inspection sheets and take the necessary action.<br \/>\n\tRecord the specific details of maintenance and repair requirements for each vehicle and send that detail to the workshop indicating the dates when vehicles will be required.<br \/>\n\tReport daily to the Transport Manager on the trucks, indicating trucks that have been booked off.<br \/>\n\tProviding reasons for why trucks are not being utilized and when they are expected to be in use again.<br \/>\n\tReconcile hired trucks kilometers to supplier shipments on a daily basis.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all vehicles are used optimally by checking that they are loaded to capacity and updated on the Vehicle Utilization Report on a daily basis.<br \/>\n\tComplete a daily Casuals Report indicating reasons why ad hoc casuals were used.<br \/>\n\tMonitor daily overtime on the BLICK system for drivers, van assistants, supervisors and refrigeration mechanics.<br \/>\n\tManage routes ensuring that time is optimized for each delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Workshop Control<\/p>\n<p>\tConsolidate the total cost allocated to each truck on a monthly basis in a Cost Analysis Report.<br \/>\n\tDemonstrate in report format the reasons for additional expenditure on vehicles.<br \/>\n\tKeep diesel documents on a daily basis ensuring that they are reconciled to the Vector statement(s).<br \/>\n\tCheck and sign off overtime for the workshop.<br \/>\n\tMonitor workshop service standards.<br \/>\n\tIdentify anomalies in service quality and stocks levels and investigate further.<br \/>\n\tComplete a combined summary of all monthly expenditure and report on a cost analysis sheet ensuring that it balances to the income statement.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all traffic fines have been paid correctly and promptly.<br \/>\n\tComplete the Weekly Repair Template reflecting time and reasons spent on trucks booked off.<br \/>\n\tControl fuel-related issues regarding hired and Vector trucks.<br \/>\n\tComplete the daily checklists for the workshop.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicle Maintenance<\/p>\n<p>\tOversee cleaning team to ensure that trucks are cleaned on a regular basis.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that vehicles are sent for a service in line with the vehicle maintenance plan.<br \/>\n\tProvide a consolidated accident\/incident report to the Logistics Manager.<br \/>\n\tConduct a daily visual check on all vehicles, ensuring compliance with AARTO and organizational safety requirements.<br \/>\n\tRecord faults on the vehicle inspection sheet and ensure that the necessary vehicle repairs are completed timeously.<\/p>\n<p>Risk Control<\/p>\n<p>\tInvestigate hijacking incidents to establish whether or not they are genuine cases.<br \/>\n\tHandle proxy responsibilities.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all drivers have valid driver\u2019s licenses and PDP\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Health and Safety Compliance<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure all staff members comply with health and safety requirements.<br \/>\n\tInvestigate and report on all injuries on duty (IOD\u2019s).<br \/>\n\tImplement safe working procedures.<br \/>\n\tManage the outsourced washing of trucks and check all chemicals used are approved.<\/p>\n<p>Sustainability and Environmental Management<\/p>\n<p>\tMeasure and manage sustainability practices within area of responsibility.<br \/>\n\tImplement and monitor Sustainability Report targets.<br \/>\n\tEnsure environmental legal compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Team Supervision<\/p>\n<p>\tTrain staff on the Standard Operating Procedures that serve to guide their approach to work.<br \/>\n\tImplement the Standard Operating Procedures through consistent application and communication.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that staff understand the procedures and sign off the relevant documents.<br \/>\n\tConduct monthly meetings with staff in order to ascertain problems encountered and resolve associated issues.<br \/>\n\tManage staff performance in order to establish opportunities for development and harness strengths.<br \/>\n\tMeasure staff performance on a soft point system that includes punctuality and wearing the required uniforms, among others.<br \/>\n\tMonitor staff using the hard point system that includes areas such as cash work; product shortages; handling of the track and accidents, among others.<br \/>\n\tReport the consolidated performance and measurement analysis on staff notice boards.<br \/>\n\tDeal with staff problems through one-on-one discussion striving to get to the root cause of problems.<br \/>\n\tManage casual
