Job Description<\/p>\n
\tTo manage the overall financial function and act as the finance business partner.\u00a0 This will include\u00a0inter-alia: management and statutory reporting for the company and its two foreign subsidiaries; oversight of the overall control environment; modernization of the financial reporting systems; planning and forecasting; compliance with various statutory \/ regulatory requirements in SA and also Zambia and Namibia; and ensuring appropriate corporate governance.<\/p>\n
Head of Finance Job Duties:<\/p>\n
\tOversee and finalize monthly close.
\n\tEnsure integrity of reporting to shareholders.
\n\tPresent expense analysis to operational managers, together with variance analysis and expectations for improvement (new).<\/p>\n
Working Capital Management<\/p>\n
\tCreditors: Ensure timeous settlement of claims and communicate problematic issues.
\n\tDebtors: Ensure prompt settlement of outstanding amounts and deal with slow payers as appropriate. Pay attention to smaller non-trade balances.
\n\tStock: Ensure (catering and technical) stock levels maintained at commercial levels.<\/p>\n
Risk management:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure integrity of the whole control environment and periodically check outputs to expectations.
\n\tEnsure known risks are mitigated either through preventative or detective controls.
\n\tExpense management: Continually seek ways to reduce costs or make processes more efficient.
\n\tPlan process in conjunction with auditors.
\n\tAgree audit budget and manage within that limit.
\n\tEnsure risks identified in previous audit\/s have been adequately mitigated.
\n\tEnsure all account balances adequately reconciled \/ approved.
\n\tTake responsibility for calculation of Tax computation and Deferred Tax calculations.
\n\tLead the audit process and manage communication, from start to end.
\n\tEnsure associated Tax Return submitted within 1 month of the above
\n\tAll banking matters.
\n\tIntegrity of salary increases and bonus calculations.
\n\tMonthly commission calculations.
\n\tTimeous payment of VAT, Payroll deductions, Provisional Tax and Assessed tax.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tPost graduate Diploma in Accounting, together with articles from one of the Profession\u2019s leading accounting firms
\n\tA Chartered Accountant<\/p>\n
Experience and Knowledge of:<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 2 years commercial experience, preferably in the retail \/ entertainment \/ leisure industries
\n\tThorough working knowledge of ERPs<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills:<\/p>\n
\tCommunicative skills, in both the verbal and written form
\n\tManagerial skills
\n\tAnalytical skills
\n\tPresentation skills
\n\tUnderstanding of statutory accounting requirements and IFRS
\n\tUnderstand\u00a0of tax principles
