Operational<\/p>\n
\tDevelop systems or procedures for accumulation systems and\/or cost accounting functions.
\n\tPredict, plan and record variable costs.
\n\tReview and analyse actual costs to identify opportunities for reductions and anomalies to maximise profits.
\n\tDetermine and recommend cost-effective solutions.
\n\tAnalyse financial data and trends to guide strategic decision.
\n\tDevelop and maintain financial models that drive business performance.
\n\tPerform month-end and year-end closing activities, inventory and other.
\n\tAssisting with audit requests and processes.
\n\tProvide actionable insights to enhance profitability and cost efficiency.
\n\tWork closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
\n\tRecommend cost allocation techniques to contract level.
\n\tAssess inventory valuation methods for appropriateness and monthly valuations. performed in line with reporting standards.
\n\tEnsure financial accounting related to revenue and costing is completed in a timely and accurate manner.<\/p>\n
Reporting<\/p>\n
\tGather and compile cost information and maintain database concerning expenses by Divisional and site level.
\n\tAnalyse reports and tools that identify cost exceptions and working with cross-function teams to predict and improve the cost production.
\n\tEvaluate project\u2019s performance using key data.
\n\tReview, analyse and report actual profit margins.
\n\tRecommend ways of cutting costs.
\n\tEnsure accurate and timely preparation of management reports by Divisions and by site.
\n\tConduct variance analysis \u2013 deep dives to enhance profitability of projects.
\n\tAssist in preparing and supplying operational finance information to Divisions.<\/p>\n
Budget and Forecast<\/p>\n
\tAssist with the annual budget preparation and reporting process.
\n\tProvide support in preparing necessary operations\u2019 annual budget reports.
\n\tTrack budgeting and costs and ensure spending is in line with budgets.
\n\tDevelop and maintain forecasts to assist projects planning and decision-making.<\/p>\n
Governance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure the Divisions are compliant with relevant legislation (Income Tax Act, Value Added Tax Act, etc.) including legislative amendments and industry best practices.
\n\tAdvise on solutions to relevant stakeholders.
\n\tAssist in preparing the annual audit file for external Auditors, various reconciliations and assist external Auditors with queries.
\n\tAssist with the internal audit during annual internal audit process.<\/p>\n
Team Management<\/p>\n
\tManage the day-to-day activities of the team .
\n\tProvide support and assistance to the team to fulfil their responsibilities.
\n\tCoach, train and develop the team.
\n\tManage delivery of services against SLAs entered.<\/p>\n
Transactional Shared Services \/ Financial Accounting<\/p>\n
\tPrepare monthly journals .
\n\tReview reconciliations performed by team.
\n\tReview cost allocation of purchase requests.
\n\tPrepare reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
\n\tProvide quality accounting support and technical advice to key internal stakeholders.
\n\tEnsuring completeness of transactions on the system on a timeous basis.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tMinimum requirements CIMA \/ CGMA
\n\tBCom Accounting with Articles
\n\tChartered Accountancy qualification will be advantageous<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tMinimum five years related experience in a construction, mining or tailings environment
\n\tSAGE ERP experience would be an advantage
\n\tContract allowance accounting experience<\/p>\n
