Description<\/p>\n
\tAn opportunity exists for 2x Assistant Chefs, reporting to the Head Chef. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing and presenting all foodstuffs as per required standard at the hospital as well as assisting the Head Chef in ensuring patients receive nutritious, safe, and appetizing meals that support health and recovery.<\/p>\n
Critical Outputs<\/p>\n
\tPrepare meals, snacks and functions correctly and timeously.
\n\tEnsure that all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.
\n\tSupport the Head Chef in menu planning, portion control, and food presentation.
\n\tEnsure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
\n\tAssist in managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing food waste.
\n\tProvide meals on time to meet patient schedules and ward requirements.
\n\tEnsure ability to operate all equipment
\n\tAssist with regular stock-takes as and when required
\n\tPrepare and cook meals according to hospital dietary guidelines and patient needs.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of a Culinary Certificate\/Diploma or equivalent qualification.
\n\t2 years relevant experience in private healthcare advantageous.
\n\tKnowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP) and hospital dietary standards
\n\tAbility to work flexible hours (e.g. Weekends and public holidays.)<\/p>\n
