The Senior Researcher is responsible for the coordination and supports the management of Research Projects across the Campus; these include aspects of:<\/p>\n
\tPlanning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, reporting.
\n\tEquipment and Consumables.
\n\tHuman Resources.
\n\tFinances.\u00a0
\n\tRisk Management and Mitigation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Research, Development, and Innovation<\/p>\n
The Senior Researcher is responsible for the coordination and supports the management of research, development, and innovation, these include:<\/p>\n
\tInvention.
\n\tTranslation.
\n\tCommercialization.
\n\tAdoption and Use.<\/p>\n
Research Collaboration<\/p>\n
\tThe Senior Researcher is responsible for the coordination and supports the management of strategic research collaboration and collaboration opportunities; these include the supporting and coordination of:
\n\tStrategic Research partnerships \/ networks.
\n\tIntra-Inter Institutional Collaboration.
\n\tNational Collaboration<\/p>\n
Human Capacity Development<\/p>\n
The Researcher is responsible for supporting Human Capacity Development that includes:<\/p>\n
\tProject staff and students.
\n\tSelf-development.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tPhD in Plant Breeding, Plant Genetics, Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Breeding or closely related field
\n\tMinimum of 5 years relevant experience in plant breeding.
\n\tA minimum of 12 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
\n\tRegistration with a scientific and professional body will be an added advantage.
\n\tExperience in project management, postgraduate student supervision or mentoring.
\n\tExperience in external income for programme and projects in programme.
\n\tAgricultural research knowledge and skills.
\n\tGood communication skills (verbal and written).
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n
