\nWINCH DRIVER (GRADING B1)<\/p>\n
\u00a0Qualifying Criteria :<\/p>\n
\tGrade 11 or equivalent ABET Level
\n\tMQA Competency B Certificate
\n\tCompleted winch training course with a valid operating license\/certificate.
\n\tMust be able to communicate in English
\n\tApplicant must possess good verbal communication skills
\n\tFluency in any of the 11 Official languages
\n\tAbility to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
\n\tMust be deadline-driven with the ability to work under pressure
\n\tMust have experience working underground
\n\tApplicant must possess written and verbal communication skills
\n\tSouth African Citizenship
\n\tClear Criminal Record
\n\tMust be declared medically fit by our Occupational Health Centre.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Responsibilities :<\/p>\n
\tWork a rotation of shifts
\n\tPerform all the duties safely as trained by our training centre
\n\tBe observant of the condition of equipment and materials used to ensure company standards are met \u00a0\u00a0
\n\tPromptly report any possible problems that may cause work obstruction
\n\tMust be able to determine the cleanliness of the workplace and adhere to housekeeping standards and procedures \u00a0\u00a0
\n\tComply with proper Health and Safety policies and procedures as required (i.e. when performing various duties underground)
\n\tWear prescribed Personal Protective Equipment i.e. hard hat, gloves, goggles, safety belts, gumboots
\n\tAcquire and maintain in a safe condition all necessary equipment required for you to carry out your work i.e. all necessary spanners, pinch bar, hammers, cold set chisel, length of rail, marlin spike, lip hooks, safety belts
\n\tConduct daily pre-use inspections of our winch and record these findings on the Checklist which is obtainable at the shaft. Ensure that you report any deficiencies to your supervisor. \u00a0You may not operate a winch, which does not meet the Mine requirements
\n\tAll machinery to be provided with effective guards
\n\tExamine and eliminate all potential fire hazards in the area where your machinery is situated, as well as along the route of the ropes
\n\tDo not work on moving machinery
\n\tWarn all persons in the nearby vicinity, of your intention to start up the winch, in the prescribed manner
\n\tMaintain machinery in good working order
\n\tMachinery to be locked out when left unattended
\n\tYour attention is drawn to the content of the Mine\u2019s Standard Procedure
\n\tPerform any related duties as may be required from time to time by a supervisor
\n\tAdhere to MHSA standards & Gold1 Group\u2019s safety motto: \u201cNothing is so important that it cannot be done safely\u201d
