KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\u00a0<\/p>\n
Month-End and Financial Reporting<\/p>\n
\tPrepare and process month-end journals
\n\tComplete month-end forms and reporting requirements
\n\tPerform balance sheet reconciliations and account reviews
\n\tClear control and connection accounts
\n\tMaintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
\n\tRespond to audit queries and assist with Annual Financial Statement (AFS) preparation<\/p>\n
Lease and IFRS Accounting<\/p>\n
\tMaintain IFRS rental schedules and process additions, changes, and terminations
\n\tClear IFRS lease-related accounts
\n\tKeep track of lease movements and maintain lease checklists<\/p>\n
Reconciliations and Compliance<\/p>\n
\tPerform intercompany invoicing and reconciliations
\n\tMonitor and reconcile payroll uploads and related transactions
\n\tTrack fixed asset register and ensure accurate record keeping
\n\tEnsure compliance with company policies and accounting standards<\/p>\n
Operational and Reporting Support<\/p>\n
\tPrepare cost center reports and analyze departmental spend
\n\tMonitor company operating expenditure (Opex)
\n\tCompile and submit required schedules (e.g., vehicle finance, insurance, and travel schedules)
\n\tPerform invoice verification and track supplier invoices
\n\tEnsure travel claims are submitted and processed
\n\tSupport budget preparation and uploads<\/p>\n
Regional and Project Support<\/p>\n
\tSupport Defy East Africa financial reporting and management accounts
\n\tPrepare and submit required financial reports within set timelines
\n\tAssist with tax-related reporting requirements, including Kenya tax computations
\n\tProvide financial support for Project E tax incentive requirements<\/p>\n
General Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tManage internal finance-related queries
\n\tAssist team members with reconciliations and matching processes (e.g., GRIR matching)
\n\tPerform ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as required
\n\tMaintain confidentiality of financial information and company records<\/p>\n
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
\tDiploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
\n\tMinimum 1\u20135 years\u2019 experience in a finance or accounting environment
\n\tStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes
\n\tExperience with reconciliations, journals, and month-end procedures
\n\tKnowledge of IFRS, particularly lease accounting (advantageous)
\n\tProficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (e.g., SAP or similar ERP systems)<\/p>\n
