Liaise across the relevant Departments by engaging with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure all stakeholders remain abreast of Departmental objectives, any potential derailers are appropriately managed and duplication of work is avoided<br \/>\n\tCommunicate with internal and external stakeholders, where required, to achieve work objectives and to maintain relationships<\/p>\n<p>Compliance, Risk and Safety\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tConduct risk assessments per shift cycle\/rotation, ensuring adherence to mining safety standards and best practices<br \/>\n\tConduct inspections to identify and report\/correct substandard and unsafe conditions, ensuring that drilling areas are set up and safely demarcated<\/p>\n<p>Data Interpretation and Reporting<\/p>\n<p>\tInterpret, examine and record geological data collected, to support management decision making timeously<\/p>\n<p>Ore Sampling and Analysis\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tContributes to the assessment of geological conditions, by collecting, examining, and identifying samples, according to sampling procedure, to support the gathering of geological samples and processing at sampling plant\/area on a mine site (basic sampling)<br \/>\n\tConduct face sampling, by sampling the channel width according to sampling procedures to gather ore specimens for analysis<br \/>\n\tConduct face mapping, by identifying, describing, geological features and mapping the lithologies according to standard operating procedures, to determine quality attributes of ores<br \/>\n\tCo-ordinate ORE material and Quality-Grade control processes in the pit, to optimise ore Blending flow throughput and minimise\/control dilution of ore\/waste mixing different ore types<br \/>\n\tProvide significant support to Mining Production operations whilst spending time in the pit as required in order to ensure adherence to the business Grade Control requirements as stipulated in the ore handling and sampling procedures<br \/>\n\tPhysically measure mining dilution and control through digging of trenches on the ore\/waste boundary\/contacts, ensuring adherence to loading and material destination plans and reporting<br \/>\n\tConduct blast holes\/drilled holes spot checks to re-measure and audit compliance to drilling plan, ensuring holes area drilled to the depth requirement<br \/>\n\tConduct ore and waste\/interburden waste (IBW) loading, by marking geological ore-waste contacts to help determine\/establish waste exposing mining-cut in support of the waste digging plan and grade control dig plan implementation<br \/>\n\tHandle ore and continually monitor Stockpile qualities and dilution control, to support Run-of-Mine Material Destination Tracking\/Crusher Plants ROM Ore quality management and feed control, line with the Crusher Feed Plan<br \/>\n\tDrill, log and capture test holes, timeously sample handover for processing and laboratory assays according to the requirement<br \/>\n\tLiaise with mining personnel regarding the material destination action plan to control daily stockpile material movement<br \/>\n\tDiscard samples remains, including sample plastics, from the geology sampling process area and the laboratory, including on skip bins into the disposing area (stockpiles) according to procedure and per the Geologist\u2019s instructions, to support site rehabilitation<\/p>\n<p>ROMpad Activities<\/p>\n<p>\tOre stockpile integrity classification to enable proactive stockpile separation strategies that support effective grade control<br \/>\n\tOre sampling, tracking, and reporting to ensure accurate representation and timely communication of sample results<br \/>\n\tMonitoring stockpiling activities to ensure proactive and consistent ore blending; and minimize mixing and contamination<br \/>\n\tImplementation of pre-blending strategies aimed at improving particle size distribution and grade consistency to enhance plant throughput and overall recovery performance<br \/>\n\tFeed monitoring and quality control to prevent grade spikes, maintain low tails, and ensure optimum value extraction from limited resources<br \/>\n\tMobile crusher Supervision: oversee mobile crusher activities<\/p>\n<p>Quality Assurance and Quality Control<\/p>\n<p>\tImplement the developed protocols for assessing ore quality, ensuring compliance with established Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards<br \/>\n\tIdentify deviations and recommend corrective actions, when necessary, to enable the mining production team to proactively address potential issues impacting production quality<br \/>\n\tCollaborate with operational teams to implement corrective actions and optimize processes to maintain high-quality ore output<\/p>\n<p>Requirements<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<\/p>\n<p>\tGrade 12 (NQF4) with Mathematics and Physical Science as subjects\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Certifications:<\/p>\n<p>\tBasic Sampling Certificate is advantageous<br \/>\n\tElementary Sampling Certificate is advantageous<br \/>\n\tBSc or BTech in Geology will be an added advantage\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Job-specific experience:<\/p>\n<p>\tMinimum of between two to three (2-3) years of experience in the mining geology environment<br \/>\n\tExperience in the Geology Department is advantageous\u00a0<br \/>\n\tComputer literate in MS Office\u00a0<br \/>\n\tValid Driving Licence (Driving in red zone area)<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>tharisa.mcidirecthire.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/tharisa.mcidirecthire.com","_company_name":"Tharisa","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"harisa is a European headquartered integrated resource group.
