\tImplementing strategic initiatives, making strategic recommendations, managing treaty placements and ensuring governance and compliance.<\/p>\n
Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tDegree in Actuarial Science, Finance or related field.
\n\tQualified Actuary or equivalent qualification will be advantageous.
\n\tExtensive knowledge of reinsurance arrangements (treaty and facultative) and structures (quota share, surplus, excess of loss etc).
\n\tAt least 7 years relevant working experience in the life insurance\/reinsurance industry.<\/p>\n
Duties & Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tLead negotiations for reinsurance treaties and risk sharing arrangements, including structuring, pricing and terms.
\n\tAct as senior contributor to the execution of company reinsurance strategy in alignment with business objectives and risks appetite.
\n\tAdvice executive management on reinsurance structures, market conditions, and risk transfer options.
\n\tPerform experience and other investigations on the reinsurance and risk sharing portfolios and making sound risk and profitability management recommendations.
\n\tUnderstand clients\u2019 needs and their priorities and ensuring that their needs are met.
\n\tContributing to technical reinsurance management, including monthly reporting on reinsurance arrangements and interpretation and application of reinsurance and risk sharing agreements.
\n\tBuild and maintain strong relationship with reinsurers and clients.
\n\tCollaborate with internal stakeholders (actuarial, underwriting and claims, finance, legal, compliance, risk) and reinsurers to ensure effective communication and execution of reinsurance arrangements.
\n\tEnforce policies, procedures and controls relating to reinsurance activities.
\n\tManage the performance and development of direct reports.
\n\tCover operations in South Africa and Mauritius.<\/p>\n
