OBJECTIVE OF ROLE\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tExecute the SA Commercial Finance Functions with direct responsibility for preparing, analyzing and submitting accurate, useful financial reports to key stakeholders in the business on time and in full. The role supports decision making in line with company\u2019s strategic objectives with a focus on maximizing profitability.<\/p>\n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Month-end Close and Reporting:<\/p>\n
Analysis, Reporting and Management of:<\/p>\n
\tSales (including discounts, dealing and rebates), COGS and Gross Profit
\n\tOperating Expenses
\n\tAccruals and Provisions including applicable balance sheet reconciliation and management
\n\tJournal preparation and posting<\/p>\n
Analyzing and explaining all variances to Budget, Forecast and Prior Year by (where appropriate):<\/p>\n
\tBrand
\n\tCustomer
\n\tDivision etc.<\/p>\n
Budgeting and Forecasting:<\/p>\n
\tAnnual Budget, Five Year Plan and Quarterly Forecast Processes
\n\tFacilitate Budget, Forecast & Five-Year model processes
\n\tPrepare and maintain calculation templates including loading and analyzing calculated values (e.g. Log Fees, Distribution Fees, Trade Expenditure)
\n\tPrice, volume mix analysis
\n\tDetailed review analysis and explanation of all Income Statement lines
\n\tInsightful reporting on variances
\n\tInput into Budget presentation pack
\n\tAddress queries timeously
\n\tProjects and Business Partnering:<\/p>\n
Ad hoc tasks to be performed in line:

\tSelling prices
\n\tDiscounts & Dealing
\n\tCOGS
\n\tReview and critically analyse New Product Launch P&L statements with reference to marketing plans and other input from the business
\n\tFacilitate robust Brand Plan processes, including template development, maintenance, and management by working closely with appropriate stakeholders
\n\tSupport the Business Heads and their teams in preparing for quarterly brand and performance reviews by providing templates, information, and meaningful analysis
\n\tProvide day-to-day financial support and training to the business
\n\tAddress ad hoc queries (including internal and external audit requirements)
\n\tPerform ROI analysis
\n\tReview and sign off commission calculations
\n\tProjects as assigned
\n\tPerform designated approval function in line with approvals framework
\n\tIdentify and document risks and opportunities
\n\tThird-party reporting in line with contractual requirements
\n\tProcess flow improvements
\n\tEnsure transactions are accounted for in line with IFRS
\n\tEnsure adequate financial controls are designed and implemented for the respective business units
\n\tEnsure that reports are balanced between systems and supporting documents
\n\tReview, approve, and update SOPs from a financial control perspective<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\tMatric \/ Grade 12
\n\tCA(SA) or CIMA<\/p>\n
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\tAt least 3 years working experience in a commercial finance environment, post articles
\n\tPrior experience in the interpretation and use of accounting standards and the Companies Act
\n\tPharmaceutical \/ FMCG industry experience \/ exposure preferred<\/p>\n
