Description<\/p>\n
\tThe purpose of this position is to maintain plant systems and equipment according to instrumentation and technical requirements.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tMonitors and benchmarks technology to ensure continuous improvement
\n\tInstalls and commissions new equipment and systems in line with set standards
\n\tPerforms detailed design, device programming, configuration and calibration on equipment to the set parameters
\n\tMaintains equipment and systems to optimize performance and availability
\n\tInspects \/ monitors equipment and systems and takes appropriate corrective action
\n\tAssesses equipment and recommends for decommissioning and disposal in line with set Company standards
\n\tManages and monitors stock levels to ensure availability of critical spares
\n\tCollects and analyses data on the system and equipment to ensure compliance to standards
\n\tMaintains records and ensures they are up-to-date and accurate
\n\tIdentifies, plans and executes Control & Instrumentation projects in line with accepted project management principles
\n\tConsults with production teams on maintenance activities that affects production
\n\tSupports the achievement of engineering availability and production performance levels
\n\tEnsures that maintenance related information is recorded and reported to the relevant planning office to support the planned\/asset maintenance system<\/p>\n
Qualification Requirement<\/p>\n
\tMatric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED courses (e.g., N3 Certificate)
\n\tNational Diploma S4 Electrical Engineering \u2013 Light\/ Medium voltage with relevant Industrial Instrumentation subject and Valid Trade Test Certificate; or
\n\tRelevant Trade Test Certificate section 13 Trade Test \/ Section 26(D) as Instrument Mechanician with N6 or Diploma
\n\tValid driver\u2019s Licence code B, EB or C1<\/p>\n
Experience and Skills Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 2-5 years\u2019 experience as an Instrument Technician
\n\tPLC programming experience
\n\tVSD and simocode installations experience
\n\tExperience in one of the following smart relays: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider
\n\tKnowledge of belt scale maintenance, actuated control valves, magnetic flow meters and different types of level control instruments
\n\tMust be able to work in confined space and at heights
\n\tMust be familiar with the risk assessment procedures
\n\tNot colour blind
\n\tEnglish language proficiency
\n\tTime management skills
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license code B, EB or C1
\n\tOwn transport to attend to call outs
