AVI\u2019s Logistics Support Services division seeks to attract an experienced individual to take on the role of a Warehouse Controller – Night Shift based in Isando. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing oversees all activities related to inbound, storage, and outbound operations in the warehouse, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across all departments.<\/p>\n
Reporting Structure:<\/p>\n
\tReports to: Senior DC Manager
\n\tDirect Reports: +\/- 60<\/p>\n
Key Areas of Impact:<\/p>\n
Picking:<\/p>\n
\tAllocate shipments to cages based on priorities and planned orders.
\n\tAssign duties to staff and replenish pick faces daily.
\n\tEnsure stock age requirements meet customer standards.
\n\tOversee fast, efficient picking of loads for dispatch.
\n\tInspect cages daily, resolving stock queries.
\n\tContinuously monitor staff to ensure correct and prioritized load picking.
\n\tMinimize out-of-stock situations and maintain high service levels.
\n\tInvestigate system-related and stock discrepancy issues.
\n\tAssist with daily incorrect pallet checks.
\n\tLiaising with Receiving and Inventory departments regarding out of stocks, promotions, products on hold etc.
\n\tEnsure accurate picking and packing of monthly hampers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Receiving:<\/p>\n
\tOversee truck offloading and record turnaround times.
\n\tLiaise with the factories and coordinate shuttle vehicles to ensure all planned loads are executed.
\n\tEnsure proper stock put-away and handle damages per SOP.
\n\tComplete daily reporting.<\/p>\n
Dispatch:<\/p>\n
\tAssign daily staff duties and replenish pick faces.
\n\tEnsure customer-specific labeling and efficient load picking.
\n\tConduct daily cage inspections and resolve stock queries.
\n\tMonitor staff to ensure correct, prioritized load picking.
\n\tEnsure all picked loads are invoiced correctly and loaded promptly.
\n\tMinimize out-of-stock situations and maintain high service levels.
\n\tInvestigate system-related picking queries and stock discrepancies.
\n\tAssist with daily incorrect pallet checks.
\n\tEnsure all loads are invoiced and documents are handed to the Debrief Department.
\n\tAdhere to SOPs for load checking.
\n\tEnsure the AT the Gate system is kept updated and correct details reflect.
\n\tEnsure truck TAT reporting is circulated to management.
\n\tAll trucks to be loaded prior to the shift ending.
\n\tManage yard shunting activities.<\/p>\n
Warehouse Monitoring:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance to health check set benchmarks.
\n\tConfirm all transactions (TOs, TRs, postings).
\n\tAddress critical deliveries, negative stocks, and interim slot locations.
\n\tConduct daily SAP health checks and provide feedback to management.<\/p>\n
Administrative Functions:<\/p>\n
\tCompile daily reports and statistics.
\n\tUpdate SOPs and job descriptions.
\n\tManage consumables and record keeping.
\n\tConduct daily workload meetings and maintain key KPIs.
\n\tOversee shift handovers.
\n\tEnsure SOP adherence.
\n\tAttend relevant SHEQ meetings and perform required SHE functions (toolbox talks, training etc.)
\n\tCompile the first draft of the Load Summary with resource allocations.<\/p>\n
Housekeeping:<\/p>\n
\tMaintain neat and tidy warehouse areas and offices.
\n\tLiaise with contract cleaners regularly.
\n\tConduct daily inspections and uphold high housekeeping standards.
\n\tInvestigate incidents related to property damage.<\/p>\n
Staff Supervision:<\/p>\n
\tMonitor employee performance and address concerns.
\n\tInitiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
\n\tApprove timesheets and monitor attendance.
\n\tMaintain a leave roster and authorize leave, submitting forms timely.<\/p>\n
Equipment Maintenance:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure daily check sheets for each machine.
\n\tOversee battery charging for machinery.
\n\tOrganize machine repairs as needed.
\n\tSchedule regular servicing for equipment and ensure checks on scanners, printers, etc.
\n\tMaintain MHE in pristine condition and ensure operator training.
\n\tMonitor FMX system and address non-conformances.<\/p>\n
General:<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to CRM policies and procedures.
\n\tParticipate in stock counts and weekend work when required.
\n\tFollow QMS procedures for picking and shipping.
\n\tComply with all company rules and regulations.
\n\tAssist in new employee induction.
\n\tEnsure adherence to food safety standards.<\/p>\n
What It Takes to Succeed:<\/p>\n
Experience that set you up for success: \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 3 years of supervisory warehousing experience
\n\tStrong supervisory skills
\n\tValid Code 08 driver’s license
\n\tProficient in Microsoft Office
\n\tSAP ERP systems knowledge
\n\tKnowledge of Warehouse Management Systems<\/p>\n

\tGrade 12 \/ Matric
\n\tDiploma in Supply Chain\/Logistics\/Warehousing.
