\tOur client, market leader in the South African Roadside Assistance Services, is currently recruiting a permanent position for aBusiness Analyst, based in Gauteng.<\/p>\n
Role Overview<\/p>\n
\tAt AA, the Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization, from customers to internal users, to gather and clarify requirements, ensuring that IT fully understands what the business needs to succeed.
\n\tYou’ll use your strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help AA make smart technology decisions that optimise business processes. Working together with our technology partners, you will proactively explore new technologies that can add value and improve how we operate.
\n\tThis role is pivotal in supporting AA’s broader digital strategy by ensuring that business and IT stay aligned throughout the project lifecycle.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Strategy & Planning:<\/p>\n
\tPartner with project sponsors at AA to define clear project scope and goals aligned to our strategic objectives
\n\tIdentify and classify stakeholders and user groups, understanding their needs and how they interact with AA’s systems
\n\tGather requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and other methods relevant to AA’s environment
\n\tDefine analysis scope, impact criteria, and metrics for each project, tailored to AA’s operational context
\n\tWork with stakeholders and project teams to prioritise requirements that drive the greatest value for AA
\n\tContinuously review and enhance AA’s requirements-gathering practices for improved efficiency and clarity<\/p>\n
Acquisition & Deployment:<\/p>\n
\tSupport research and evaluation of software and hardware options that meet AA’s specific needs
\n\tParticipate in quality assurance activities to verify solutions, meet agreed requirements and function optimally within AA’s infrastructure
\n\tAssist in selecting and maintaining documentation tools that support AA’s standards and workflows<\/p>\n
Operational Management:<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse and verify requirements for clarity, feasibility, and compliance with AA’s policies and standards
\n\tCreate templates and documentation that clearly communicate business needs in format developers and IT teams at AA can use effectively
\n\tTranslate business requirements into functional specifications, using AA-appropriate models and diagrams
\n\tDevelop interface prototypes or mock-ups where needed to demonstrate concepts clearly to stakeholders
\n\tConduct peer reviews to ensure quality and accuracy of requirements documentation
\n\tManage and track the status of requirements through AA’s project lifecycle, adapting to changes and communicating updates promptly
\n\tLiaise closely with project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders at AA to maintain alignment and understanding throughout projects<\/p>\n
Position Requirements<\/p>\n
Education & Certification:<\/p>\n
\tDiploma or degree in IT, or related fields
\n\tBusiness Analysis Certification is essential
\n\t3 to 5 years’ experience in a business analyst role<\/p>\n
Knowledge & Experience:<\/p>\n
\tDeep understanding of core business processes and operational environment, with proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, modelling, and documentation within IT project frameworks
\n\tExperience using structured techniques like design thinking, UML, BPMN, and process flows for software solution diagramming
\n\tSkilled in creating wireframes, UI designs, customer journey documentation, business requirements documents, functional specifications, and process flows
\n\tFamiliarity with Agile practices including facilitating user story sessions and backlog grooming using Agile tools
\n\tExperience analysing APIs for seamless integration and engaging in various stages of the SDLC, from system design to scoping and estimation
\n\tProven ability to research and implement innovative technologies to drive project innovation
\n\tExperience in software and hardware evaluation, procurement, and implementation at scale
\n\tStrong analytical skills applied to business and system challenges
\n\tProficient in writing clear, concise requirements in both business and technical language suitable for IT teams
\n\tKnowledgeable about project management practices and tools commonly used
\n\tUnderstanding of software development life cycles and IT governance frameworks
\n\tWorking knowledge of core software applications and technology landscape<\/p>\n
