The National Museum offers a Post-Doctoral opportunity for a candidate with an interest in in gaining professional experience for a future career as a researcher under the mentorship of a well-established researcher in one of the following fields:<\/p>\n
\tArchaeology; or
\n\tSouth African History; or
\n\tSouth African Cultural History
\n\tThe successful candidate will be expected to conduct independent research, regularly publish the results of this research, curate and expand the Museum\u2019s collections, and support educational and outreach activities by disseminating knowledge in order to popularise their field of study.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tPhD in a relevant field
\n\tApplicants must be 35 years or younger
\n\tMay not hold full-time salaried employment during the fellowship
\n\tCandidates must prepare a proposal indicating the field of research that they will pursue for the post doc in any of the fields listed above.
