Summary<\/p>\n
\tThe Senior Electrical Designer (12-month Fixed Term Contract) is responsible for supervising a team of electrical designers and assisting in the development and production of 2D\/3D drawing deliverables. Additionally, the Senior Electrical Designer also assists in the resolution of all technical design issues and directs the activities of other designers in the team to meet project schedule objectives.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to and promote the Hatch corporate safety culture.\u00a0
\n\tManage the schedule for a team of designers on project or program including multidiscipline interactions.\u00a0
\n\tCoordinate work with the lead electrical engineer, project and engineering managers including taking responsibility for timely release of team deliverables.\u00a0
\n\tSupervise, review, check and be responsible for quality of electrical designs performed by others in the design team.\u00a0
\n\tPrioritize project or program discipline actions for the purpose of achieving deliverable quality and adherence to schedule.\u00a0
\n\tPrepare design concepts for internal and client reviews in collaboration with engineering team.\u00a0
\n\tProduce detailed engineering design drawings and documentation for approved concepts\/projects.\u00a0
\n\tPerform 3D model clash detection and coordinate electrical design with other disciplines.\u00a0
\n\tAssist in the preparation of project specific procedures (symbols, cell libraries, borders etc).\u00a0
\n\tPerform complex plant layout and electrical systems using 3D design modeling tools.\u00a0
\n\tContribute to the development of different multidisciplinary design solutions and mentor other designers. Provide guidance on Hatch quality standards.\u00a0
\n\tLead formal electrical design reviews and supervise the work of electrical designers.\u00a0
\n\tResponsible for electrical design work related to quantity estimation effort on project or program including direct quantity (MTO) take-off from a 3D model, 2D drawings, sketches and historical data.\u00a0
\n\tResolve electrical design issues throughout project lifecycle as required.\u00a0
\n\tApply industry best practices and applicable codes and standards (IEEE, NEC, CEC, IEC, etc).\u00a0
\n\tParticipate in the selection of electrical design candidates as required.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience (Essential):<\/p>\n
\tAdvanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.\u00a0
\n\tMinimum of ten years of solid electrical engineering design experience. \u00a0
\n\tProficient in the use of Auto CAD, Microstation and COMOS,
\n\tExtensive experience with 2D and 3D design tools, including Bentley BRCM, Intergraph and COMOS.\u00a0
\n\tSound design and modeling skills for Industrial plant layout, electrical design and detailing. \u00a0
\n\tThorough knowledge of electrical equipment and materials. \u00a0
\n\tSound knowledge of industry or regulatory codes and standards for electrical systems. \u00a0
\n\tExperience with multidisciplinary design coordination. \u00a0
\n\tGood communication and interpersonal skills. \u00a0
\n\tSound knowledge of designing electrical systems and workflows for electrical systems.\u00a0
\n\tGood understanding of PFDs and P&IDs. \u00a0
\n\tSite experience in walk-downs, field measurements and commissioning
\n\tExperience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPCM environment.\u00a0
\n\tGood leadership skills.
\n\tStrong client focus.\u00a0
\n\tExperience in mentoring and supervising designers.\u00a0
\n\tAbility to delegate tasks and promote the effective performance of team members.
