Job Description:<\/p>\n
\tThe Senior Manager: Student Finance is responsible for the strategic and operational management of student fees, accounts receivable and financial aid functions across assigned campuses. The role ensures the integrity, accuracy and completeness of student financial information, while driving effective revenue management, debt collection strategies and compliance with institutional policies and legislative requirements.
\n\tThis position provides leadership to multiple teams, plays a key role in stakeholder engagement, and contributes to the achievement of the University\u2019s financial sustainability objectives.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tProvide strategic and operational leadership in the management of student fees, accounts receivable and financial aid functions.
\n\tEnsure accurate billing, allocation and reconciliation of student fees, bursaries, NSFAS and other funding streams.
\n\tOversee the development, implementation and monitoring of student fee payment plans and credit control strategies.
\n\tManage debtor processes, including statements, acknowledgements of debt, write-offs and handovers.
\n\tOversee the administration and reconciliation of bursary funding, sponsor accounts and control accounts.
\n\tCompile and manage budgets, forecasts and financial reports relating to student finance and revenue streams.
\n\tEnsure compliance with university policies, governance frameworks, audit requirements and relevant legislation.
\n\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculties, service providers, sponsors and government entities.
\n\tLead, manage, develop and motivate staff to deliver high-quality, customer-focused services.
\n\tIdentify opportunities for process improvements and systems enhancements to strengthen data integrity and reporting.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements<\/p>\n
\tA Postgraduate Degree qualification in Accounting or Finance (NQF 8).
\n\tMinimum of five (5) years\u2019 relevant experience in an Accounts Receivable or Student Finance environment.
\n\tProven managerial experience.
\n\tSound knowledge of accounting and financial management principles.
\n\tProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
\n\tCandidate should be prepared to be based on various UJ campuses.<\/p>\n
Recommendations:<\/p>\n
\tExperience within a higher education or research environment will be a strong advantage.
\n\tProven experience working on ITS.<\/p>\n
