Your ultimate goal entails the diligent and optimal investigation of fraudulent and illegal activities within the Group (RSA and Africa). Ensuring effective and efficient end to end case investigation of all commercial, financial and criminal matters ranging from murder, armed robbery and syndicate\/project related investigations. Also ensuring the effective and efficient end to end case investigation of reports via the Ethics\u2013Line facility.<\/p>\n
WHAT YOU WILL DO:<\/p>\n
\tConduct forensic investigations and audits
\n\tIdentification of fraudulent activity\/behaviour
\n\tEvaluate seriousness of misconduct
\n\tFormulation of an investigation plan\/strategy individually or in consultation with other stakeholders (audit\/HR\/Insurance)
\n\tMaintain up to date specialist knowledge
\n\tManage, assist and actively participates in complex investigations
\n\tManage external investigative resources if required
\n\tInvestigative reporting
\n\tRecovery of losses
\n\tAssist with drafting the necessary Charges against employees
\n\tCompiling case dockets for criminal prosecution
\n\tLiaison with all judicial parties including the SAPS, DPCI HAWKD and Senior Public Prosecutors etc.
\n\tFraud profiling of suspects & lifestyle reviews
\n\tIdentification of red flags or fraud indicators and behavioural clues
\n\tFocus on identifying key risks, control deficiencies as well as potential fraud
\n\tImplementation of the Ethics- Line facilities within the Group, awareness campaigns\/ and training.
\n\tConduct audits and fraud risk assessments where necessary, report findings or deviations, and assist in implementing recommended controls
\n\tUndertaking Security Risk Reviews\/Audits and providing assurance and consulting services to business on the adequate and effective management of its risks and controls<\/p>\n
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:<\/p>\n
\tAnalytical and reasoning skills to conduct special investigations (e.g. those involving significant public\/police interest issues), assessing and interpreting evidence, maintaining the integrity of the investigative file, evaluating investigative results and determining cause; analysing the circumstances and making recommendations.
\n\tCommunication skills to explain and discuss interpretations of evidence, and related legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines, and theories about the investigation; using appropriate judgment in communicating confidential and sensitive information, and providing testimony in court; Management skills to assign and coordinate work of field investigators and contractors (if applicable).<\/p>\n
Experience & Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent in Forensic Accounting, Forensic Investigation, Law, Finance<\/p>\n
Training in (advantageous):<\/p>\n
\tInvestigation techniques
\n\tLabour law & disciplinary processes
\n\tCriminal procedure and evidence handling<\/p>\n
5 years + experience in:<\/p>\n
\tForensic investigations \/ fraud risk management
\n\tInternal audit \/ compliance \/ risk
\n\tConducting end-to-end forensic investigations
\n\tFraud detection, profiling, and loss recovery
\n\tDrafting investigation reports and case dockets
\n\tSupporting disciplinary hearings and criminal cases
\n\tWorking with or in law enforcement
\n\tManaging complex and sensitive investigations
\n\tEthics hotline management and fraud awareness programmes
\n\tRisk assessments, control evaluations, and audit reviews
\n\tStakeholder engagement across HR, Legal, and Audit
\n\tExperience managing external investigators or service providers<\/p>\n
