Overview:<\/p>\n
\tWe are looking for a skilled and proactive Development Chemist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in formulation chemistry and experience in regulatory and manufacturing environments.
\n\tThe successful candidate will contribute to product development from concept to scale-up, ensuring compliance and quality throughout. This role reports directly to the Head of Research & Development and will work closely with cross-functional teams.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Formulation Development:<\/p>\n
\tCreate and optimise cosmetic\/personal care formulations.
\n\tConduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing.
\n\tDevelop innovative formulations in line with business quotas and strategic goals.
\n\tPerformance will be evaluated based on the delivery of innovative formulations and contribution to the product pipeline.<\/p>\n
Allergen Calculation:<\/p>\n
\tPerform accurate allergen assessments and maintain documentation.<\/p>\n
Regulatory Compliance:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure formulations meet local and international regulatory standards.
\n\tPrepare and maintain documentation for product safety and compliance.
\n\tSupport regulatory submissions and audits.<\/p>\n
GMP & ISO 22716 Compliance:<\/p>\n
\tApply Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO 22716 standards in development.
\n\tSupport quality assurance and participate in internal audits.<\/p>\n
Batch Upscaling:<\/p>\n
\tTranslate lab-scale formulations to pilot and full-scale production.
\n\tCollaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure consistency and efficiency.
\n\tDocument scale-up processes and troubleshoot production challenges.<\/p>\n
Reporting & Documentation:<\/p>\n
\tDraft technical reports including Root Cause Analyses (RCA) for issues identified in batch production.
\n\tPrepare and share PIFs and other relevant documentation with clients and internal stakeholders.
\n\tMaintain clear and accurate records of formulation development and testing outcomes.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience:<\/p>\n
\tDegree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or related field.
\n\t3\u20136 years of experience in formulation development, preferably in cosmetics or personal care.
\n\tStrong understanding of cosmetic regulations and compliance standards.
\n\tExperience with GMP and ISO 22716.
\n\tProficient formulation skills and able to reverse engineer complex formulas.
\n\tAbility to work independently while collaborating within a team structure.<\/p>\n
