KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Teaching and Learning<\/p>\n
\tPreparation of study guides and subject material.
\n\tDelivery of lectures and practical sessions.
\n\tMarking and assessments.
\n\tGeneral module administration.<\/p>\n
Research<\/p>\n
\tConduct research towards own qualification.
\n\tSupervision of postgraduate students.
\n\tInvolvement in professional\/academic societies.<\/p>\n
Community engagement\/Commercialization<\/p>\n
\tDevelopment of and involvement in community and\/or commercialisation initiatives.<\/p>\n
Program Development<\/p>\n
\tDevelopment of specialist programs that directly addresses industry needs (Professor \/ Associate Professor level).<\/p>\n
Final year supervision<\/p>\n
\tTopic selection and general guidance to students.
\n\tLiaising with external clients.
\n\tFrequent project meetings with students.<\/p>\n
School Administration<\/p>\n
\tRepresentation at marketing events.
\n\tInvolvement in Engineering Schools.
\n\tRepresentation on Faculty-specific committees.
\n\tGeneral office administration.<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements<\/p>\n
FOR ALL POSITIONS:<\/p>\n
\tAn appropriate Industrial Engineering B.Eng\/ BSc.Eng degree that allows for registration as Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA,\u00a0http:\/\/ecsa.co.za), in terms of the Washington accord.<\/p>\n
In addition to the above;<\/p>\n
PROFESSOR:<\/p>\n
\tA PhD in Industrial Engineering (NQF level 10) or related field.
\n\tA minimum of fifteen (15) years\u2019 appropriate work experience of which at least five (5) years in a Higher Education context.
\n\tNRF-rating or a research portfolio that can immediately qualify for NRF-rating.<\/p>\n
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:<\/p>\n
\tA PhD in Industrial Engineering (NQF level 10) or related field.
\n\tA minimum of ten (10) years\u2019 appropriate work experience of which at least three (3) years in a Higher Education context.
\n\tA research trajectory that can qualify for NRF-rating within the next three year.<\/p>\n
SENIOR LECTURER:<\/p>\n
\tA PhD in Industrial Engineering (NQF level 10) or related field\u00a0OR\u00a0a Master\u2019s degree in Industrial Engineering (NQF level 9) or related field combined with ECSA professional registration as an Industrial Engineer.
\n\tA minimum of five (5) years\u2019 appropriate work experience of which at least two (2) years in a Higher Education context.<\/p>\n
LECTURER:<\/p>\n
\tA Master\u2019s degree in Industrial Engineering (NQF level 9) or related field\u00a0OR\u00a0a B.Eng degree in Industrial Engineering (NQF level 9) combined with ECSA professional registration as an Industrial Engineer.
\n\tA minimum of two (2) years\u2019 appropriate work experience.<\/p>\n
