\tA leading financial services organisation is looking for an experienced Art & Heritage Manager with strong expertise in heritage management, archival preservation, and cultural asset governance to oversee the organisation\u2019s art and heritage portfolio.
\n\tThe successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, preserving institutional history, and driving best-practice conservation and curation of heritage and art assets while supporting strategic cultural upliftment initiatives.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tOversee collection management, archival processes, and preventative conservation of heritage and art assets.
\n\tEnsure proper accessioning, documentation, and preservation of institutional historical materials.
\n\tManage restorative and stabilisation treatments to prevent deterioration of artefacts and documents.
\n\tConduct research and stakeholder engagement with internal and external heritage partners and donors.
\n\tAdvise internal stakeholders on heritage best practices, risk mitigation, and compliance requirements.
\n\tDevelop and maintain policies, protocols, and governance frameworks for heritage asset management.
\n\tEnsure compliance with national heritage legislation and relevant cultural heritage standards.
\n\tOversee management of art collections, including curation, conservation, and cataloguing activities.
\n\tManage departmental budgeting, vendor relationships, and operational planning for heritage functions.
\n\tSupport and ensure effective functioning of the Art and Heritage Committee in line with governance requirements.
\n\tContribute to strategic planning and implementation of heritage and cultural initiatives within the organisation.<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s Degree or Honours Degree in Social Sciences, History, Heritage Studies, Archaeology, Arts, or related field.
\n\t3\u20136 years\u2019 relevant experience in heritage, archival, museum, or cultural asset management.
\n\t1\u20132 years\u2019 management or supervisory experience.
\n\tStrong understanding of heritage management, archival practices, and museology principles.
\n\tKnowledge of applicable legislation and standards (e.g., National Heritage Resources Act, museum guidelines, international charters).
\n\tExperience in budgeting, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
\n\tStrong analytical, governance, and compliance orientation with attention to detail.
\n\tProfessional membership in relevant heritage or museum associations (advantageous).<\/p>\n
