We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for fire protection system installations, developing project budgets, performing quantity take-offs, tracking and monitoring project costs, identifying value engineering opportunities, assessing financial risks, and maintaining comprehensive cost records and documentation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tPrepare cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for fire protection projects
\n\tCompile tender documents and evaluate contractor bids
\n\tPerform quantity take-offs and produce bills of quantities
\n\tEnsure compliance with ASIB and FM Global standards
\n\tMonitor, track, and report on project costs throughout lifecycle
\n\tConduct financial analysis and prepare cost reports
\n\tIdentify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives
\n\tAssess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies
\n\tMaintain accurate cost records and documentation<\/p>\n
Minimum Education & Experience<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field
\n\tProfessional registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP)
\n\t3+ years\u2019 experience in quantity surveying or cost management
\n\tExperience in fire protection or mechanical services projects
\n\tContract administration expertise<\/p>\n

\tKnowledge of fire protection systems, construction methods, and materials
\n\tFamiliarity with ASIB and FM Global standards
\n\tStrong numerical, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset
\n\tProficiency in cost estimation, QS, and CAD software
\n\tGood written communication and reporting skills
\n\tProject management capability<\/p>\n
