\n\tWe\u2019re on the lookout for a\u00a0Shift Superintendent – Energy\u00a0to effectively manage resources (people, equipment & processes etc) with the objective of producing the required quality and quantity of Utilities (Steam, Power, Compressed air and Demineralised water) in accordance to customer requirements, mill standards and mill stratetegic objectives.<\/p>\n
As an Shift Superintendent Energy you will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
Plant Operations<\/p>\n
\tLead a shift-based team and manage plant operations to maximize resources (raw materials, energy, people).
\n\tExecute production activities, including start-ups, shutdowns, checks, log sheets, and trend analysis.
\n\tAssess and manage abnormal plant conditions to ensure stability and continuity.
\n\tRecommend maintenance, upgrades, or replacement of equipment to optimize production efficiency.<\/p>\n
Engaged and Developed Workforce<\/p>\n
\tCoach, mentor, and monitor team members\u2019 performance against goals and position profiles.
\n\tEnsure on-the-job and off-the-job training activities are completed to develop team skills. Propose training requirements as per teams PDP’s.
\n\tManage team performance, taking action where required to maintain highest possible standards.<\/p>\n
SHEQ \u2013 Safety, Health, Environment & Quality<\/p>\n
\tPractice and enforce compliance to Sappi’s “8 Life Saving Rules” and “Earth Saving Rules”
\n\tEnsure compliance with SHEQ requirements and investigate incidents to implement corrective actions.
\n\tMaintain high standards of housekeeping at all times.
\n\tParticipate in and promote BBS observation programme according to department objectives.<\/p>\n
Control of Budget<\/p>\n
\tManage shift-related budgets, including manpower, overtime, and operational costs.
\n\tManage shift-related production\/service budgets in accordance to department KPI’s.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Builds Customer Relations<\/p>\n
\tCommunicate effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers.
\n\tRespond to customer feedback and implement corrective actions when required.
\n\tParticipate in relevant forums (SBT mill co-ordination, MDT, SHEQ, etc.) to facilitate effective communication across the mill.<\/p>\n
What are we looking for?<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma in Pulp and Paper\/Engineering.
\n\tComputer literate with working knowledge of the MS Office package (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
\n\tKnowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
\n\tProven experience acting as a supervisor within a production or energy plant environment.
\n\tMinimum 5\u20138 years\u2019 experience in Boiler and Turbine Operations.<\/p>\n
