Pricing Strategy & Architecture<\/p>\n
\tOwn end-to-end pricing strategy across retail banking, business banking and credit products
\n\tDesign and implement a coherent pricing architecture that balances revenue growth, competitive positioning and customer fairness
\n\tDevelop pricing frameworks for new product launches and market entries, working closely with Product and Commercial teams
\n\tBuild Kuda\u2019s pricing governance framework \u2014 defining decision rights, approval processes and escalation paths<\/p>\n
Analytics & Commercial Modelling<\/p>\n
\tBuild the analytical infrastructure for pricing: elasticity models, competitive benchmarking, margin analysis and scenario modelling
\n\tConduct rigorous analysis of fee structures, interchange economics, interest rate margins, FX spreads and credit pricing across all products
\n\tDesign and run pricing experiments (A\/B tests, conjoint analysis, willingness-to-pay studies) to move us from gut-feel to evidence-based pricing decisions
\n\tDevelop dashboards and reporting to give leadership real-time visibility into pricing performance and revenue drivers<\/p>\n
Product-Specific Pricing<\/p>\n
\tRetail Banking: Optimise pricing for account tiers, transfer fees, card fees, savings rates and FX margins \u2014 balancing growth with unit economics
\n\tBusiness Banking: Design pricing models for merchant services, payroll, collections, and business accounts that reflect value delivered to SMEs
\n\tCredit: Work with the Credit team to refine risk-based pricing, ensuring loan pricing adequately reflects cost of funds, expected losses and target returns while remaining competitive<\/p>\n
Cross-Functional Leadership<\/p>\n
\tPartner with Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance and Commercial teams to embed pricing into product development and go-to-market processes
\n\tEducate the organisation on pricing principles \u2014 build internal capability so pricing thinking is distributed, not siloed
\n\tRepresent pricing in leadership discussions, board reporting and investor conversations
\n\tMonitor regulatory developments affecting pricing (e.g. CBN fee guidelines, consumer protection regulations) and ensure compliance<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\t9+ years of experience in pricing, commercial strategy or revenue management, with significant time spent in financial services (banking, fintech, payments or lending)
\n\tDeep expertise in at least two of: retail banking pricing, business\/merchant pricing, or credit\/lending pricing
\n\tStrong quantitative skills \u2014 comfortable building pricing models, running statistical analyses and interpreting complex data
\n\tExperience designing and executing pricing experiments and willingness-to-pay research
\n\tTrack record of building pricing functions or capabilities in organisations where pricing was previously underdeveloped
\n\tExcellent communication skills \u2014 able to translate complex pricing analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders
\n\tCommercial mindset with genuine empathy for customers \u2014 understands that good pricing creates value for both sides<\/p>\n
Advantageous:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tExperience in African or emerging market financial services
\n\tBackground in management consulting with a focus on pricing or commercial strategy
\n\tFamiliarity with regulatory pricing environments (CBN, FCA or equivalent)
\n\tExperience with pricing software tools (PROS, Vendavo, Pricefx or custom-built systems)
\n\tSQL proficiency and comfort working with data engineering teams<\/p>\n
