Payable Accountant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Purpose<\/p>\n<p>\tTo control the creditors department and supervise the functions performed by the team.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Creditors Management:<\/p>\n<p>\tConduct rotational reviews of creditor account reconciliations.<br \/>\n\tEnsure follow-up and resolution of long outstanding and complex queries with suppliers.<br \/>\n\tMonitor the status of creditor reconciliations and the unresolved queries within the reconciliations.<br \/>\n\tPrompt and drive the resolution of queries within the department.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Payment Management:<\/p>\n<p>\tManage the posting of down payments.<br \/>\n\tReview and release blocked invoices for payment, where appropriate business reason exists.<br \/>\n\tCheck, authorise and release the Host-to-Host payment runs.<\/p>\n<p>GR\/IR (Goods Receipt \/ Invoice Receipt) Account Management:<\/p>\n<p>\tAnalyse the GR\/IR Account.<br \/>\n\tManage the manual clearing of the GR\/IR account.<br \/>\n\tInitiate and supervise the process to identify receipts to be closed.<br \/>\n\tObtain the necessary authorization to reverse \u201cinvalid\u201d receipts.<br \/>\n\tOversee the reversal process.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting:<\/p>\n<p>\tPrepare reports detailing price variances, queries and outstanding invoices.<br \/>\n\tPrepare and maintain report of closed GR\/IR receipts.<\/p>\n<p>SAP Maintenance:<\/p>\n<p>\tAttend training and obtain skills and expertise required to be the Group SAP \u201csuper- user\u201d for accounts payable.<br \/>\n\tProvide on-the-job SAP training to team members.<br \/>\n\tEnsure any new team members are adequately trained to fulfill their functions in the SAP environment.<br \/>\n\tAllocate appropriate access to users and monitor activity.<\/p>\n<p>General Administration:<\/p>\n<p>\tFile and safeguard records within area of responsibility.<br \/>\n\tCompile ad hoc spreadsheets and analysis when required.<\/p>\n<p>Information and Data management:<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure team members accurately and regularly capture data onto SAP to enable access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis and decision making.<br \/>\n\tShare relevant data with management teams to enable reliable business decision making.<\/p>\n<p>Teamwork and Self-Management:<\/p>\n<p>\tTake ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritising, and self-development.<br \/>\n\tFollow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.<br \/>\n\tInform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.<br \/>\n\tSupport and drive the business core values.<br \/>\n\tManage colleagues and client\u2019s expectations and communicate appropriately.<br \/>\n\tDemonstrate willingness to help others and \u201cgo the extra mile\u201d to meet team targets and objectives.<br \/>\n\tChampion training and development of self and others through utilising available training opportunities.<br \/>\n\tParticipate in and drive regular performance appraisals and ensure that own targets and goals are clear and achievable.<\/p>\n<p>Staff Management:<\/p>\n<p>\tLead and develop staff within the context of the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Skills Development Act.<br \/>\n\tMonitor staff performance and provide regular feedback.<br \/>\n\tManage staff activities, ensuring service levels are met and protocols are adhered to.<br \/>\n\tCoach and support staff where necessary to achieve objectives.<br \/>\n\tManage staff leave and general time management issues in line with organisational deliverables and standards.<br \/>\n\tManage and deliver on succession plans to enable the development of a future generation of leaders and specialists and ensure optimal turnover and retention levels are maintained.<br \/>\n\tChampion staff training and development through the utilisation of available training opportunities or contributing to the development of new training solutions in collaboration with national training specialists.<br \/>\n\tConduct regular performance appraisals with subordinates.<br \/>\n\tEstablish sound staff and labour organising and communication structures and systems.<br \/>\n\tLead the team towards meeting the strategy and targets through regular communication and utilisation of the full organisational talent management tool set.<br \/>\n\tConduct regular meetings and ensure that records are kept and shared across the team and that action plans agreed to within team meetings are delivered upon.<\/p>\n<p>Key Relationships<\/p>\n<p>Internal:<\/p>\n<p>\tVector.<br \/>\n\tFinance commercial teams.<\/p>\n<p>External:<\/p>\n<p>\tSuppliers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n<p>\tMatric (Grade 12).<br \/>\n\tA degree or diploma in accounting preferable (extensive experience and proven track record will be considered as alternative).<br \/>\n\tMinimum of 5 years in a creditor control or related accounting function.<br \/>\n\tProven experience in an SAP environment.<\/p>\n<p>Skills and Competencies<\/p>\n<p>\tCreditor management principles and practices.<br \/>\n\tSAP utilisation.<br \/>\n\tVerbal and written communication.<br \/>\n\tComputer literacy (proficiency in MS Excel).<br \/>\n\tReport writing.<br \/>\n\tInterpersonal.<br \/>\n\tProblem solving.<br \/>\n\tDecision-making.<br \/>\n\tAnalytical thinking.<br \/>\n\tNumeracy.<br \/>\n\tAn understanding of multiple key
