\tDis- Chem Melville requires a\u00a0Frontshop Assistant, to uphold the merchandising standards whilst supporting the customer service at point of sales in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
Essential:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \u2013 Matric or Senior Certificate
\n\t0 \u2013 6 Months Retail work experience\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\t1 Year work experience within Retail\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tCertification in Retail Business Management<\/p>\n
Job Description:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tEnsure that full ranges of products are on the shelves at all times and neatly presented.
\n\tMaintain the stock on the shelves to ensure it has not reached its sell by date.
\n\tRestock merchandise when needed to ensure maximum sales.
\n\tAll out of stock queries from customers must be followed up on, in line with the customer service out of stock list and ensure they are dealt with in a timeous manner.
\n\tEnsure delivered stock and\/ or stock pulled from the storeroom are stored and packed in the correct space.
\n\tEnsure merchandise displays, labels and pricing are correct at all times and report all price discrepancies to management.
\n\tEnsure the storeroom organised, neat and tidy.
\n\tKeep up to date with new product knowledge to effectively assist customers.
\n\tAssist with restocking of merchandise and supplies when needed to ensure maximum sales.
\n\tAssist with back shopping when required.
\n\tAll merchandise must be handled carefully to prevent any losses.
\n\tTransact all purchases \u2013 receive, verify and processes all payments such as cash, cards, vouchers, coupons and any other acceptable payments.
\n\tExchange merchandise for customers and accept returned goods by customers when authorised to do so by the Frontshop Leader.
\n\tProcess all loyalty cards including those of accelerated partners.
\n\tEnsure cash is placed in the drop safe according to standard operating procedures.
\n\tEnsure all line voids and price changes are approved and signed by a Frontshop Leader and\/ or Retail Store Assistant.
\n\tEnsure accurate cash flow at all times.
\n\tFacilitate rotation of stoke on a regular basis and adhere to Dis-Chem stock control procedures.
\n\tReport low stock levels, items that are out of stock, damaged stock and expired stock to management.
\n\tAssist with the counting of stock files and general stocktaking.
\n\tIdentify and report damaged and expired stock immediately to management.
\n\tAssist with the loading and off-loading of stock when needed.
\n\tEnsure boxes are flattened after unpacking stock and taken to the designated area.
\n\tEstablish a professional relationship with customers and provide friendly, helpful, courteous assistance and advice to all customers.
\n\tReport customer compliments and complaints to management.
\n\tAdhere to the customer turnover per hour rate as per company benchmark.
\n\tAssist with the training of new and current team members.
\n\tEnsure that outgoing stock\/ items\/ scripts are scanned and paid for.
\n\tKeep daily takings (cash, cheques, vouchers, card slips, line voids and incomplete dockets) inside the till drawer until they are placed in the drop safe.
\n\tReport bad and suspicious behaviour for both staff and customers to management.
\n\tHousekeeping must be in accordance to Dis-Chem standards.
\n\tAdhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
\n\tAdhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
\n\tAdhere to the Dis-Chem uniform and personal appearance policy<\/p>\n

\tKnowledge of retail operations and administration
\n\tfinds solutions to potential issues as well as knowing when to escalate the problem and what level to escalate it to.
\n\tComprehending fundamental arithmetic\u2019s like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
\n\tConveys ideas and facts verbally using language
\n\tAddresses customer questions in a timely manner
\n\tRecognises the need for procedures and follows relevant procedures.
\n\tTakes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tBasic computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook), numerical skills. SAP.<\/p>\n
