\tWe are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Head of Design to lead the creative design function within a fast-paced sports and media environment. This role is ideal for a senior designer who thrives on both doing and leading\u2014actively producing high-quality visual work while guiding and elevating a talented design team.
\n\tYou will be responsible for shaping and maintaining a bold, consistent, and engaging visual identity across all digital, social, and match-day platforms, while working closely with digital and content teams to deliver impactful fan-focused creative.
\n\tThis is not a purely managerial role\u2014you will be expected to remain deeply involved in day-to-day design output.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Requirements<\/p>\n
\t7+ years of professional design experience.
\n\tStrong portfolio demonstrating excellence in:
\n\tGraphic design
\n\tMotion graphics
\n\tBranding
\n\tSocial and digital-first content
\n\tAdvanced proficiency in:
\n\tAdobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere)
\n\tFigma and related design tools
\n\tProven experience in leading or mentoring design teams.
\n\tStrong understanding of design for digital and social platforms.
\n\tAbility to perform under pressure in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
\n\tExcellent communication and collaboration skills.
\n\tDegree or equivalent qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field (or strong portfolio-based experience).<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Hands-on Design & Creative Production<\/p>\n
\tCreate high-quality visual assets including:
\n\tSocial media graphics
\n\tMotion graphics and animations
\n\tDigital banners and website elements
\n\tCRM and email templates
\n\tCampaign key visuals
\n\tPlayer and match-day graphics
\n\tContribute directly to high-priority and complex design work, especially during peak periods and match weeks.
\n\tEnsure fast, high-quality turnaround of creative assets in a live, high-energy environment.<\/p>\n
Creative Leadership<\/p>\n
\tDefine, evolve, and maintain the overall design direction and visual identity.
\n\tDevelop and uphold brand guidelines and design standards.
\n\tLead concept development, creative reviews, and final quality approval.
\n\tEnsure consistency across all visual output while pushing creative innovation.<\/p>\n
Team Collaboration & Mentorship<\/p>\n
\tWork closely with designers and motion specialists, providing hands-on mentorship and feedback.
\n\tSupport skill development and foster a high-performance creative culture.
\n\tShare workload with the team to ensure balanced delivery and output quality.<\/p>\n
Cross-Team Collaboration<\/p>\n
\tPartner with digital and content teams to translate briefs into strong visual executions.
\n\tAlign design output with audience engagement goals, platform requirements, and campaign strategies.
\n\tCollaborate with production and video teams for integrated content creation.<\/p>\n
Workflow & Execution<\/p>\n
\tManage design workflows, timelines, and asset libraries.
\n\tEnsure efficient delivery under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
\n\tMaintain organisation of design systems and shared resources.<\/p>\n
Trend & Innovation<\/p>\n
\tStay up to date with global design trends, motion techniques, and digital content styles.
\n\tContinuously bring fresh, relevant ideas to enhance visual storytelling and engagement.<\/p>\n
