\tWe are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Legal Specialist to provide comprehensive legal support to the business. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring legal compliance, managing risk, and supporting strategic initiatives through sound legal advice. Your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n
\tProvide proactive legal advice on a wide range of matters affecting the business, including regulatory compliance and corporate governance
\n\tDraft, review, vet, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements, including commercial contracts, service level agreements, and vendor contracts
\n\tEnsure the organisation remains compliant with all relevant legislation, policies, and regulatory requirements
\n\tIdentify potential legal risks and provide practical solutions to mitigate such risks
\n\tSupport the business in contract management and interpretation of legal documents
\n\tProvide guidance on dispute resolution matters, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation processes
\n\tLiaise with external legal counsel and manage outsourced legal services where required
\n\tConduct legal research and provide opinions on complex legal issues
\n\tMonitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments, advising the business on potential impact
\n\tProvide training and awareness to internal stakeholders on legal and compliance related matters<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognised institution
\n\tAdmitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
\n\tMinimum of 5 years\u2019 post-admission experience in a similar role
\n\tProven experience in commercial law, contract law, and regulatory compliance
\n\tExperience within financial services or a regulated environment will be advantageous
\n\tStrong knowledge of South African legislation and corporate governance principles
\n\tStrong analytical and problem solving skills
\n\tExcellent drafting and negotiation skills
\n\tHighly attention to detail and accuracy
\n\tAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
\n\tStrong judgement and decision making ability
\n\tHigh level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality<\/p>\n
