Role Outline<\/p>\n
\tTo assist the BU Director in managing the national transshipment (TSP) network and associated service providers in such a way that DOT and DOD service levels of customers will be maintained. To monitor the flow of documentation, ensuring POD processes are completed correctly. Discrepancies reported timeously by TSPs and resolved. Monitoring the on-time arrival of inbound arrival of loads from MW to TSP depots. Monitoring returns from the depots back to MW. General relationships management between TSP service providers and DHL. Responsible for all secondary transport and cross docks under C&R as well as the Control Tower Operations for C&R customers.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tInterface to planning, warehousing, customer services, GRA, Stock control, transport and accounts internally
\n\tEngaging with customer related issues regarding the TSP depots.
\n\tEnsure that the daily communication from the TSP meets the requirements of DHL clients
\n\tEnsure compliance to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and company policies
\n\tResponsible for stock related issues and stock losses – reporting of 999s Account weekly to TSP depots and resolution of issues
\n\tDirect the daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for team members
\n\tManagement of POD and transfers of the TSP depots
\n\tOperational continuous improvement
\n\tBudget\/Cost Management
\n\tPreparation of KPI’s
\n\tManagement of third party staff for TSP where applicable
\n\tOverall control function of the TSP Function
\n\tLiaises closely with the planners and systems managers regarding DOT and DOD deliveries

Skills\/Competencies<\/p>\n
\tGood written and communication skills and understand basic arithmetical principles
\n\tPerson should have a sound knowledge and understanding of a PC and the inherent controls. Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word and Power Point.
\n\tExcellent interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skills
\n\tAbility to co-ordinate all staff and assets in warehouse department
\n\tPerson should know what products are handled by the Company
\n\tPerson needs good understanding of distribution and transport methods
\n\tPerson should be able to enforce health and safety procedures and identify hazards
\n\tKnowledge of client\u2019s requirements and customer needs
\n\tPerson should have a good understanding of quality as a key value
\n\tAwareness of importance of security
\n\tOperational knowledge and understanding of service delivery
\n\tAbility to understand instructions and to accurately carry out instructions – must listen effectively and convey ideas logically
\n\tReact to customers in a courteous and professional manner and maintain at the highest level
\n\tPerson should be able to propose different solutions to problems – must be able to act of their own without being urged to do so
\n\tKnowledge of logistics market trends, opportunities and challenges
\n\tCommercial breadth, i.e. general management experience

Qualifications\/Experience<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ Matric \u2013 Essential
\n\tLogistics\/Warehouse Management diploma – Desirable
\n\tRelevant Degree or Qualification – Desirable
\n\t3 years\u2019 experience in Transport Management<\/p>\n
