\tThe purpose of this role is to ensure profitable and safe management of the silo complex or bunker according to company and industry standards and operational procedures.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
MINIMUM EDUCATION\/TRAINING\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12
\n\tQualified Grain Grader
\n\tIn possession of all grading and fumigating certificates<\/p>\n
REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\t10 years operational experience in handling and storage of grain<\/p>\n
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tEnsure effective marketing of available grain as well as the marketing of all silo services including silo storage capacity\u00a0
\n\tOversee the daily reconciliation of grain stock including grain quality and quantity control
\n\tEnsure correct blending of grain in line with quality specifications
\n\tEnsure regular calibration and tests of all grading equipment
\n\tMonitor monthly\u00a0income and expenses and take corrective action on deviations
\n\tConduct regular inspections of the condition of fixed assets
\n\tBuild, manage and maintain sound relationships with internal and external clients
\n\tMonitor and manage capacity planning and bin allocation\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tEnsure effective use of storage facility to maximise storage periods
\n\tManage the dispatch rate of grain and identify events that have a negative impact on receipt and dispatch time and recommend improvements
\n\tIdentify and implement new opportunities at silo\/bunker
\n\tConduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with applicable AFGRI policies, the rail regulator and food safety legislation.
\n\tEnsure a safe working environment in line with AFGRI\u2019s Health and Safety Policy and legislative requirements.
\n\tAccurately and timeously capture and reconcile weekly and monthly reports and report any deviations
\n\tRecruit and appoint competent employees, manage performance and resolve grievances, conflict and disciplinary issues in line with applicable HR policies.<\/p>\n
