Job Description<\/p>\n
\tWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Qualified Vehicle Body Builder to join our Truck workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, repairing and maintaining vehicle bodies to the highest standards of safety and workmanship.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tWelding, cutting, bolting, and riveting structural sections using specialized equipment
\n\tWorking with various materials including steel, aluminium, and fiberglass
\n\tFitting body components such as doors, locks, handles, windows, and interior trims
\n\tReplacing seats, panels, bumpers, and light boxes
\n\tRemoving and reattaching structural components
\n\tInstalling interior finishes including floor coverings and door trims
\n\tCarrying out minor accident repairs and refurbishment work
\n\tPerforming quality control checks on vehicle body condition, chassis (including cracks), body bolts, and accident damage
\n\tInspecting safety and compliance items such as seat belts, mirrors, fire extinguishers, license discs, number plates, and data plates
\n\tRepairing and modifying truck and trailer bodies
\n\tEnsuring all work complies with road safety regulations
\n\tAdhering to the Occupational Health and Safety Act at all time<\/p>\n
Qualifying Criteria<\/p>\n
\tMinimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
\n\tRelevant qualification or Red Seal Trade Test certificate
\n\tMinimum of 5-8 years relevant working experience within the engineering or metal industry
\n\tProven experience as a Vehicle Body Builder
\n\tStrong welding and fabrication skills
\n\tKnowledge of commercial vehicle standards and compliance
\n\tExtensive knowledge of power tools
\n\tMust be prepared to work overtime when required<\/p>\n
