Key Performance Areas:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tProvide legal support, advise and legal opinions on various legal matters, to minimize and control risks to the SAWS.\u00a0
\n\tProvide assistance to ensure that legal documents and other contractual documents are properly drafted, negotiated, reviewed, interpreted and vetted.\u00a0
\n\tMaintain an updated and accurate register of all SAWS\u2019s contracts drafted, negotiated, reviewed, interpreted and vetted by the Legal Unit.\u00a0
\n\tConduct research on requisite legislation and case law when required.\u00a0
\n\tCo-ordinate and manage litigation matters for and against the SAWS\u00a0
\n\tLiaise and attend consultations with and instruct the SAWS external legal service providers (attorneys)\u00a0
\n\tAttend Court\u00a0
\n\tNegotiate, review, interpret, vet and draft Settlement Agreements.\u00a0
\n\tReview pleadings from external legal service providers\u00a0
\n\tAssist with the dispute resolution in accordance with the SAWS policies and the legislative framework.\u00a0
\n\tWhere necessary, represent the company at various levels dispute resolution mechanisms, e.g. Bargaining Forum, the CCMA etc., with the aim of managing the SAWS\u2019 interests.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Required Minimum Education\/Training:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tLLB or other relevant Legal Degree\u00a0
\n\tAdmission as an Attorney or Advocate (Bar Council Admission)\u00a0<\/p>\n
Required Minimum Work Experience:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAt least 3 (three) years post-articles\/ admission experience\u00a0<\/p>\n
