{"id":34578,"date":"2026-04-24T10:01:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T10:01:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/social-practitioner\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T10:01:20","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T10:01:20","slug":"social-practitioner","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/social-practitioner\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Practitioner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Key Performance Areas:<\/p>\n<p>Implementation of the project&#8217;s social strategy.<\/p>\n<p>\tFacilitate education and awareness of the profile and dynamics of the project area&#8217;s social environment in relation to the project activities.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that adequate social monitoring is undertaken.<br \/>\n\tCoordinate implementation of social strategy and provide leadership to stakeholders.<br \/>\n\tFasttrack processes to obtain social approvals (e.g., land zoning for Resettlement purposes, agreements for servitudes on communal land).<br \/>\n\tPrepare operational plans for the implementation of the social strategies and budgets.<br \/>\n\tSupervise the implementation, impacts, and effectiveness of social mitigation measures.<\/p>\n<p>Establish and maintain a relationship between all project key stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelopment and maintenance of a stakeholder database.<br \/>\n\tRecords keeping, address and provide prompt feedback if issues are raised by stakeholders, and complete.<br \/>\n\tRecord of all projects&#8217; interested and affected Persons (including interested parties, stakeholder groups, and stakeholder sectors), their contact details, and all interactions.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and sustain good relations with internal and external stakeholders.<br \/>\n\tProactively engage with projectspecific interested and affected parties.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and maintain social dialogue with stakeholders (through structured meetings and normal communication) throughout the project life cycle.<br \/>\n\tDevelop contingency plans and standing protocols for crisis management on site, e.g., work stoppages, vandalism and intimidation, &amp; community protests<\/p>\n<p>Strengthening Social Compliance<\/p>\n<p>\tMonitor the compliance of the project against social aspects identified in the Environmental Authorisation, Environmental Management Programme, SocioEconomic Development, Baseline, Health and Safety plans, legislation, and best practices.<br \/>\n\tDocument lessons learnt in relation to the social aspect of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Support and provide Input to land acquisition processes<\/p>\n<p>\tIdentify social risks related to land acquisition and resettlement requirements<br \/>\n\tFacilitate meetings required by land acquisition specialists for information disclosure to the landowners, affected parties, and communities<br \/>\n\tAssist in the facilitation of consultation processes with affected parties.<br \/>\n\tFacilitate processes relating to compensation queries and finalisation of claims and acquisition agreements with landowners and affected community members.<br \/>\n\tArrange required followup meetings to clear off any queries\/ concerns that may arise from affected parties.<\/p>\n<p>Support the implementation of Community development ( CSI Legacy) Projects<\/p>\n<p>\tFacilitate processes towards projectspecific community development ( LED\/CSI Legacy) projects identification and implementation<br \/>\n\tMobilise and coordinate stakeholders involved in the community development projects.<\/p>\n<p>Management Reporting and Improvement in Communication<\/p>\n<p>\tResponsible for social input into the monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports on the status of various project activities, risks, and mitigation measures proposed.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tEnsure reporting on social activities as per contractual specifications.<br \/>\n\tto constitute and ensure the effective operation of a social facilitation Committee comprising of representatives from DWS, TCTA, Sector Departments, Water Bords, Professional Services Provider and the Contractor.<\/p>\n<p>Minium Requirements:<\/p>\n<p>B Degree<\/p>\n<p>\tType of degrees: Social Sciences, Community development, Communications, Public Relations &amp; Environmental Management, and related fields<\/p>\n<p>5 years of Experience<\/p>\n<p>\tExperience in dealing with social matters. Experience in engaging communities, Traditional Councils, municipalities, service providers, contractors, consultants, and donors in a project environment.
