In this role you will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
\tManage and supervise the Instrumentation Department to ensure optimal plant performance and reliability;
\n\tEnsure the maintenance, calibration, and optimisation of all instrumentation and control systems within the smelter;
\n\tLead preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance programs to minimise downtime;
\n\tEnsure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and engineering standards;
\n\tManage and develop the instrumentation team, including artisans, technicians;
\n\tProvide technical support for smelting furnaces or Pelletising plant process control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems;
\n\tParticipate in shutdown planning, plant upgrades, projects and continuous improvement initiatives;
\n\tManage departmental budgets, resources, and procurement requirements;
\n\tEnsure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and engineering standards; and
\n\tSupport operational teams in improving process efficiency and plant availability.<\/p>\n
About you:<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation \/ Electrical, Electronic\/Mechatronic Engineering;
\n\tGovernment Certificate of Competency (GCC) \u2013 Factories will be advantageous.
\n\tQualification and training in data system and management will be advantageous
\n\tStrong automation and implementation of current technologies within the instrumentation environment will be advantageous
\n\tMinimum 5 years\u2019 experience in an instrumentation role within a smelting, mining, or heavy industrial environment;
\n\tAt least 3 years\u2019 supervisory or management experience;
\n\tStrong knowledge of PLC systems, SCADA systems, process control, and industrial instrumentation;
\n\tExperience with Siemens PLC systems will be advantages;
\n\tExperience in a ferrochrome or pyrometallurgical smelting environment will be advantageous; and
\n\tStrong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills<\/p>\n
