Role Purpose\/Business Unit:<\/p>\n
\tTo undertake the design, development, testing, and deployment of software products and services, specifically focusing on BSS systems, in accordance with the needs of the business.
\n\tKey responsibilities encompass analysing business requirements, designing technical narratives, developing software solutions, documenting the development process, and conducting thorough testing to ensure alignment with user specifications.<\/p>\n
Your responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n
\tTo contribute to defining, integrating, and documenting technical solutions for BSS systems, including Oracle Fusion Middleware, WebLogic Server, SOA\/OSB services, and supporting database technologies.
\n\tTo develop and update software components as required, including Java services, OSB\/SOA integrations, and APIs aligned to microservices-oriented patterns where applicable.
\n\tTo compile User Requirements Specification (URS) documents for new products and system enhancements, including updates related to Java-based services and integrations.
\n\tTo support the delivery of projects by ensuring that technical work aligns with business requirements and approved designs, and to assist business teams in understanding solution impacts.
\n\tTo provide day-to-day support for customers and internal queries, working closely with stakeholders, vendors, and other Vodacom teams.
\n\tTo research current industry practices and apply relevant improvements in areas such as middleware integration, microservices alignment, and general DevOps practices.
\n\tTo ensure that systems under the BSS domain follow cybersecurity standards and to assist in addressing security findings across WebLogic, SOA\/OSB, APIs, and related platforms.
\n\tTo provide support throughout the product lifecycle before, during, and after implementation, including deployments across Fusion Middleware, WebLogic domains, and CI\/CD processes where required.
\n\tTo support and maintain production and non-production environments, ensuring stability of BSS applications, integrations, and microservices\u2011linked components
\n\tTo assist with the coordination of BSS initiatives and support technical workshops involving development, testing, and operations teams.<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate for this role will have:<\/p>\n
\t3-year Diploma\/ Degree in Electrical\/ Electronic\/ Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study.
\n\t3-5 years of work experience in the Telecoms industry, specific to Business Support and Operations Support environment.
\n\t3-5 years of advanced experience on Java-based applications and UNIX-related systems, working knowledge of Oracle Fusion will be an added advantage.
\n\t3-5 years of experience in building and maintaining CI\/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
\n\t3 years Relational Database and\/or LDAP experience.
\n\tWeb Services knowledge (XML, REST, SOAP, JSON, etc)
\n\tSDLC process knowledge in product and service delivery chain
\n\tFamiliarity with monitoring\/logging tools (e.g.Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Splunk, Appdynamics)\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tProficient in using Docker and managing workloads on Kubernetes
