\tA world class- class consulting engineering firm with a resource base across the country dedicated to the sustainablle development of Africa is looking for a Technician to join their team in Parow, WC.\u00a0
\n\tThe technician will provide first-line and high-level desktop support, maintain system reliability, and assist with network and server administration under the guidance of the IT Manager. The role focuses on ensuring end-user productivity, data protection, and efficient IT operations.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tProvide first-line and high-level support for desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
\n\tMaintain a comprehensive data backup system and ensure effective data loss control.
\n\tManage and support Microsoft Active Directory for user and computer accounts.
\n\tAssist with LAN and Wi-Fi network support to minimise downtime.
\n\tPerform desktop and laptop imaging, software installations, and patch management.
\n\tEnsure all systems are protected against viruses and that antivirus definitions are up to date.
\n\tSupport end-user applications including Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD (basic level).
\n\tMaintain accurate hardware and software inventory records.
\n\tRespond to IT support tickets in a timely and professional manner.
\n\tAssist with email client support (Exchange environment).
\n\tKeep abreast of technology changes and propose improvements to the IT Manager.
\n\tEnsure systematic storage and retrieval of data, including archived work.<\/p>\n
Requirements:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma \/ NQF Level 5\u20136 in IT, Information Systems, or Computer Networking\u00a0
\n\tA+ \/ N+
\n\tMicrosoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
\n\tITIL Foundation
\n\tIT focused Technical Certificate (e.g., A+, N+, MCP) with demonstrable practical experience
\n\t2 \u2013 3 years\u2019 experience in a role as Desktop Support Specialist or IT Support Specialist<\/p>\n
Technical Knowledge:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMicrosoft Windows Server (2008\/2012\/2016) \u2013 basic administration
\n\tMicrosoft Active Directory \u2013 user and group management
\n\tMicrosoft Office Suite support (Word, Excel, Outlook)
\n\tDesktop hardware troubleshooting and repair
\n\tBasic network infrastructure (TCP\/IP, Wi-Fi, cabling)
\n\tAntivirus and backup software management
\n\tExchange email client support (Outlook)
\n\tAutoCad support (advantageous but not essential)<\/p>\n
