application for Business Commercial Banking clients, to minimise impairments and maximise profit.<br \/>\n\tThis role includes consistent application of the Nedbank\u2019s credit policy, through a risk-based affordability assessment, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and assessing the creditworthiness of potential customers within the agreed risk parameters as set out in the Nedbank Credit Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Job Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>\tPerform monitoring exercise to ensure business alignment to agreed risk appetite measures.<br \/>\n\tGain consensus and highlight pertinent credit risk issues by preparing and presenting reports to various forums.<br \/>\n\tAlign credit policy to changes in the regulatory environment and in line with best practice by scanning changes and making recommendations.<br \/>\n\tFacilitate and guide monitoring activities by obtaining legal opinion and directives.<br \/>\n\tEstablish emerging risks by studying the external environment including competitors and the macro economy.<br \/>\n\tManage budget by controlling expenditure.<br \/>\n\tContribute towards financial targets by monitoring and improving credit risk.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\tIdentify, establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure buy-in of monitoring activities and recommendations.<br \/>\n\tProvide independent opinion to stakeholders to inform prudent risk management.<br \/>\n\tChallenge recommendations and policy changes made by the business to ensure thorough understanding of the risk involved.<br \/>\n\tRepresent Credit Risk by participating in Risk Committees and Forums.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that the bank, in its lending practices, treats the customer ethically and fairly by being the customer&#8217;s voice in Risk Committees and Forums.<br \/>\n\tEnsure alignment to changes in regulations and Group Policy by contributing to the maintenance of an up to date credit policy.<br \/>\n\tDeliver on the credit risk monitoring plan by managing resources and activities.<br \/>\n\tAddress immediate and emerging risks by performing ad hoc monitoring exercises.<br \/>\n\tEnsure compliance of agreed corrective actions by continuous monitoring.<br \/>\n\tEnsure alignment of business to policy and regulations by monitoring and making recommendations.<br \/>\n\tEnsure clear direction of activities by establishing and following an annual visitation programme for all regions.<br \/>\n\tEnsure accuracy and quality by monitoring work done by team.<br \/>\n\tMentor and coach staff on identified performance gaps by discussing these performance gaps and agree on appropriate action to be taken.<br \/>\n\tMotivate staff to perform and contribute to the success of the business by creating environment of teamwork through engaging with staff (sharing information) and encouraging participation in decision making processes.<br \/>\n\tStay abreast in field of expertise and deliver on the expectations from stakeholders by building capability of self and staff through identifying current and future training and development needs.<br \/>\n\tContribute to team effectiveness by\u00a0 following the recruitment process when recruiting talent.<br \/>\n\tMaintain a capable high performing team and\u00a0 ensure an environment for optimal performance is created by identifying talent pool through conducting career conversations, utilising the talent grid principles and developing talent retention programmes (e.g. rotation).<br \/>\n\tEnsure self and staff understand and embrace the Nedbank Vision and Values by leading by example and re-enforcing values during meetings.<br \/>\n\tManage the on boarding process of new employees by ensuring execution of preparations according to the on-boarding check-list.<br \/>\n\tEnsure transformational targets are met for own team through consideration of targets during the staff recruitment, retention and training process and utilising suppliers listed on the preferred supplier list.<br \/>\n\tContribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc.).<br \/>\n\tCreate a client service culture through various required interventions.<br \/>\n\tAchieve operational excellence by supporting the implementation of business optimisation improvement through team engagement.<br \/>\n\tEncourage team to generate innovative ideas and share knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Essential Qualifications &#8211; NQF Level<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvanced Diplomas\/National 1st Degrees<\/p>\n<p>Preferred Qualification<\/p>\n<p>\tPost-graduate qualification in Risk Management,\u00a0Accounting , Finance and Audit.<\/p>\n<p>Minimum Experience Level<\/p>\n<p>\t4-6 Years\u2019 Credit Assessment \/ Credit Evaluation and decisioning experience within Banking environment.<br \/>\n\tMin 4 Years&#8217; Business Banking experience in evaluating current and prospective clients financial Statements and credit reports to determine their ability to honour debt obligations.<br \/>\n\tAt least 2\u20133 years\u2019 proven experience within Commercial and Agricultural sectors is essential.<br \/>\n\tFirm understanding of legalities associated with lending and collateral<br \/>\n\t1 \u2013 2 Years\u2019 experience
