iMasFinance Cooperative Limited is a financial services (financing and insurance) provider seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Centurion. The position reports to the Financial Manager and is responsible to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective financial controls. The role supports business decision-making through sound financial analysis and plays a key role in month-end, year-end, and audit processes.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
The Senior Accountant is responsible for:<\/p>\n
\tAccounting
\n\tSound and effective document and accounting record keeping.
\n\tPreparation and review of monthly management accounts.
\n\tEnsuring accurate general ledger reconciliations.
\n\tManage and reconcile petty cash.
\n\tPayments to sundry creditors and payroll creditors.
\n\tManagement of fixed assets.
\n\tReviewing of journal entries, accruals, and provisions.<\/p>\n
Financial Operations:<\/p>\n
\tProcessing of payments and collections via Hyphen and PACS system.
\n\tVerification and reporting on monthly payroll salary inputs.
\n\tAuthorizing of payments to sundry and payroll Creditors<\/p>\n
Risk Management<\/p>\n
\tSummarising internal audit findings with recommendations into report for Head: Finance.
\n\tEnsuring strong governance, regulatory (NCR) compliance, and risk management by implementing effective controls, maintaining compliant policies and procedures, strengthening fraud prevention, and to minimise financial and regulatory risk.
\n\tProvide financial analysis and insights to stakeholders<\/p>\n
People Management<\/p>\n
\tLead and manage team performance to achieve departmental objectives through effective leadership, planning, and control.
\n\tDrive people development via performance management, coaching, and skills development, while fostering a positive, engaged organisational culture.
\n\tMentoring and support to Accountants and interns<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tBCom Accounting (Essential \/ Minimum)
\n\tBCom Honours (Recommended \/ Desirable<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\t5 years accounting experience, preferably in the banking or financial services industry
\n\tProven experience with financial reporting and reconciliations<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills:<\/p>\n
\tResults driven
\n\tStrong interpersonal relations
\n\tExcellent communication skills.
\n\tFinancial analysis, financial reporting.
\n\tExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
\n\tStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
