Description<\/p>\n
\tThe main purpose of this position is to ensure that all equipment is functioning as per the design and purpose as well as ensuring good turnaround times, equipment availability and support to the Quality department. This is done through a proper maintenance program supported by maintenance schedules.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with Quality Laboratory Services Health and Safety responsibilities, legal and operational requirements
\n\tIdentify hazards and risk while performing daily tasks and take preventative measures
\n\tComply with provided systems, practices, methods, standards, and procedures of the job
\n\tConduct visual inspections of the work area to ensure workplace safety and good housekeeping
\n\tProvide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or mechanical problems are encountered during shifts.
\n\tSet up, Operate and test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, after installation, servicing or breakdown and record results.
\n\tInstall, repair and maintain plant equipment to ensure equipment availability
\n\tCollaborate with Laboratory Manager and electrical experts to identify, define, and solve developmental and critical problems.
\n\tAssist with commissioning procedures for electrical and\/or mechanical installations
\n\tAssist with engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria and recommend approval or disapproval.
\n\tCalibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment
\n\tAnalyse and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems
\n\tConduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations to the Laboratory Manager or Laboratory Supervisor
\n\tResponsible to log incidents regarding failure of equipment
\n\tTest the robotic laboratory after service and maintenance.<\/p>\n
Qualification Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMatric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED qualifications such as the N3 Certificate.
\n\tPreferably a Millwright qualification or any relevant N6 qualification within the engineering field or –
\n\tMinimum of 10 years proven experience within the engineering field.
\n\tValid driver\u2019s licence code B, EB or C1 would be advantageous.
\n\tExperience and Skills Requirements
\n\tExperience in a multifunctional laboratory and\/or production environment
\n\tKnowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
\n\tKnowledge of electrical \/ mechanical drawings and parts
\n\tKnowledge of production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective operation of the laboratory.
\n\tAttention to detail, planning and organizing, self-motivated and being a team player.
\n\tOperating a Robotic Laboratory to perform analyses.
\n\tWorking 12 hours Shifts.
\n\tComputer literate
\n\tEnglish language proficiency
\n\tTime management
