\tAdherence to the production plan.

\n\tCreating a high-performing team and conducive employee relations climate in the team.
\n\tAdministration of necessary systems.
\n\tMaintain employees’ competencies by conducting Planned Task Observations (PTOs).
\n\tKeep track of employees’ legal training.
\n\tKeep track of all equipment used by employees, i.e., safety harnesses, tools, radios, etc.
\n\tCoaching and mentoring.
\n\tComply with company rules, policies, and procedures.
\n\tLabour management.
\n\tDevelopment and installation of a proactive approach to all safety (i.e., create awareness of hazards and behaviour).
\n\tCoach and instruct to explain how the work should be performed, focusing on improving, changing, and optimising practices.
\n\tImplement corrective action in cases of noncompliance with objectives and safety standards.
\n\tLiaise with the marketing and logistical departments in order to ensure the dispatch of products timeously.
\n\tAnalyse production stoppages and breakdowns in order to take corrective action to improve plant availability.
\n\tThe primary\u00a0focus is on effective and safe operation of the plant to optimise efficiencies and recoveries and maintain the quality of produced products.
\n\tEffective operation of the plant process to agreed-upon process parameters to achieve shift and daily targets.
\n\tImplement and maintain a planned inspection schedule for critical equipment in the section in order to ensure preventative action is taken before an equipment failure occurs.
\n\tWork closely with the maintenance department in order to ensure a world-class maintenance culture is established and maintained in the plant.
\n\tCommunicate failures\/breakdowns in process or equipment to senior and standby personnel (after hours).
\n\tManage the team and support services during breakdowns in order to limit downtime while ensuring adherence to safety standards.<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12, NQF Level 6 (N5).
\n\tMinimum 3 years\u2019 experience as a production foreman in the smelting industry.<\/p>\n
Job Specification Experience<\/p>\n
\tPrevious experience (3 years) as a furnace operator in the smelting industry.
\n\tExperience in heavy industry metallurgical furnaces (BOF, steel plant, DC\/AC furnaces).
\n\tSupervisory Development Program.
\n\tComputer literate, Microsoft Office, IMS\/SHEQ system.
\n\tPrevious encounter with ICAM training, Legal liability training.
\n\tNational diploma\/degree in chemical\/metallurgical engineering advantageous.<\/p>\n
