Job Description
\nInventory Management & Control<\/p>\n
\tMaintain accurate stock levels of engineering parts, components, and consumables
\n\tConduct regular cycle counts and full stock takes; investigate and resolve variances
\n\tEnsure proper binning, labeling, and storage practices aligned to engineering standards
\n\tMonitor minimum\/maximum stock levels and initiate replenishment requests<\/p>\n
Receiving & Issuing of Goods<\/p>\n
\tSupervise receiving, inspection, and verification of incoming goods against purchase orders
\n\tEnsure quality and quantity checks, particularly for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components
\n\tControl issuing of stock to workshop, maintenance teams, and production departments
\n\tMaintain strict documentation and traceability of all transactions<\/p>\n
Systems & Administration<\/p>\n
\tCapture all stock movements accurately on ERP systems (e.g., Syspro, SAP, or equivalent)
\n\tGenerate reports on stock levels, usage trends, and slow-moving or obsolete stock
\n\tMaintain stores records in compliance with audit and internal control requirements<\/p>\n
Leadership & Supervision<\/p>\n
\tSupervise and guide stores personnel, including junior storemen and assistants
\n\tAllocate daily tasks and ensure productivity and adherence to procedures
\n\tProvide on-the-job training and enforce safety and housekeeping standards<\/p>\n
Health, Safety & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and MHSA (Mine Health and Safety Act) requirements
\n\tMaintain a clean, safe, and organized stores environment
\n\tEnsure safe handling and storage of hazardous materials and heavy components<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Coordination<\/p>\n
\tLiaise with procurement, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure material availability
\n\tSupport breakdown and maintenance requirements with urgent parts issuing
\n\tWork closely with suppliers and logistics teams to resolve delivery discrepancies<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 (Matric) \u2013 essential
\n\tCertificate\/Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Warehousing \u2013 advantageous<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 5\u20138 years\u2019 experience in a stores\/warehouse environment
\n\tAt least 2\u20133 years in a supervisory role
\n\tExperience in mining, engineering, or manufacturing environments (highly preferred)
\n\tStrong knowledge of trackless mining equipment parts and components<\/p>\n
Technical Skills<\/p>\n
\tERP system experience (Syspro)
\n\tStrong inventory control and stock management knowledge
\n\tUnderstanding of mechanical and engineering parts (hydraulics, electrical, OEM components)<\/p>\n
