\tCurrently we are looking for a\u00a0Senior Electrician\u00a0in Kenhardt, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision \u2013\u00a0Improving our future.\u00a0
\n\tAs our Senior Electrician you will perform Electrical work on the Plant that will include Modification, Repair and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment and Systems as well as switching, isolation, earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level.
\n\tYou will be required to support to provide training and supervision to junior personnel and to be the Authorized Person on Duty (APD) when the Technical Manager is off site.<\/p>\n
Main responsibilities\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tPerform modification, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all plant electrical equipment and systems
\n\tExecute switching, isolation, earthing, and LOTO activities in line with authorisation levels
\n\tConduct preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal plant performance
\n\tMaintain PV arrays, combiner boxes, DC systems, inverters, transformers, and switchgear
\n\tPerform LV and HV switching operations as authorised
\n\tCarry out routine inspections of electrical equipment, instruments, and tools
\n\tSupervise, train, and support junior personnel; act as team leader when required
\n\tMonitor and evaluate electrical staff performance and ensure adherence to standards
\n\tComplete reporting, documentation, and maintenance records accurately
\n\tConduct HSE inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations
\n\tAct as Appointed\/Authorised Person on Duty (APD) in the absence of the Plant Supervisor
\n\tPerform general and ad hoc duties as required on site<\/p>\n
Qualifications and competencies\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tN3 Qualification, Qualified Electrician and ORHVS qualification
\n\tRegistered 3 phase installation electrician (SANS 10142); not single-phase tester
\n\tComputer literate \u2013 Excel & Word
\n\t5+ years Electrical experience \u2013 AC & DC electrical systems
\n\tSolar PV Plant & BESS experience advantageous
\n\tProven experience on MV & HV equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance
\n\tAbility to take ownership of electrical systems on the plant
\n\tHigh Voltage Switching and Solar PV Plant experience
\n\tSupervision and training –\u00a0Supervise, train\u00a0junior personnel in associated duties and evaluate electrical staff
\n\tMaintain Transformers and Switchgear and Assist with reporting and perform various HSE related inspections
\n\tExperience with HV Switching, Solar PV Plant & BESS
\n\tElectrical knowledge (LV) and (HV)
\n\tTechnical Support and Reporting
\n\tOperating System and Process Control
\n\tNon-conformances and claims management
\n\tLanguage: fluent both written and spoken in English<\/p>\n
