The purpose of the Fiduciary Portfolio Oversight Manager is to co-ordinate, guide and manage a team of Fiduciary Oversight Portfolio Analysts and Specialists who perform the detailed oversight of the administration and conduct of the collective investment scheme (management company) thereby ensuring safekeeping of assets and the protection of participatory interest holders. The purpose of the Fiduciary Portfolio Oversight Manager is to oversee and provide support and guidance to collective investment scheme management companies through the provision of accurate and reliable intelligence (information) together with analysing trends and data through regular reports to improve the quality of oversight decisions.<\/p>\n

\tProvide guidance and support to collective investment scheme management companies to ensure the protection of underlying participatory interest holders
\n\tImprove business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence (information) together with analysing trends and data
\n\tAccumulate information to review work progress that provides input to reporting, decision making and the identification of improvement opportunities
\n\tImplement, monitor and control business processes according to quality standards; policy; and compliance and governance requirements in area of accountability
\n\tEnsure the development, alignment, mapping and implementation of end-to-end processes aligned to the customer journey map and the protection of participatory interest holders
\n\tResearch, enable and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement
\n\tReview existing processes and suggest innovative ideas to improve and streamline processes to reduce risk, drive efficiencies and minimise redundancy
\n\tManage team delivery against goals in the area of responsibility
\n\tManage performance moderation, disciplinary action, recognition and retention processes in line with HR policies and procedures
\n\tParticipate in Talent Management practices and processes in line with HR policies and procedures
\n\tImplement employment equity plan targets in all recruitment and employee movement activities
\n\tManage performance of employees by clearly defining goals and objectives and providing direction, coaching and regular feedback
\n\tEnsure skills are transferred in specific functions

Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tPost-Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Investment Management
\n\tAdditional certifications such as CAIA, CFA, CIPM or FRM would be advantageous<\/p>\n
Experience and Skills<\/p>\n
\t3 – 5 years experience in a similar environment, of which 1 – 2 years ideally at junior (entry level) management level
\n\tGood understanding of the regulatory framework, within the the Collective Investment Scheme industry.
\n\tGood understanding of risk management, accounting and investment principles as they relate to Collective Investment Schemes
\n\tGood understanding of the administration of Collective Investment Schemes and the oversight thereof
\n\tStrong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks in an energetic environment with multiple priorities
\n\tExcellent communication and analytical skills in both written and spoken English.
\n\tExcellent judgment and ability to anticipate legal issues or risks.
\n\tProactive approach to problem solving.
\n\tThe ability to process information quickly and to apply that information in finding solutions.<\/p>\n
