The Role<\/p>\n
\tAs Buyer, you will form part of the Category Management team and be responsible for the development and execution of the category procurement strategy, with a specific focus on Paint Procurement. In this role, you will manage supplier relationships, support demand planning, and ensure the efficient sourcing and availability of products to meet business needs.<\/p>\n
Main Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tAct as the main point of contact for suppliers and manage strong, collaborative supplier relationships.
\n\tSupport category planning, including seasonal demand forecasts and optimal product assortments per branch.
\n\tIdentify opportunities to simplify product ranges and support category development initiatives.
\n\tNegotiate pricing and contract terms while resolving supplier pricing discrepancies and claims.
\n\tMonitor supplier performance, assess supply risks, and ensure continuity of product availability.
\n\tMaintain accurate procurement data in the ERP system and collaborate with stakeholders to align on business needs.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s Degree or Diploma in Procurement or a related field.
\n\tA minimum of 2 years\u2019 related experience, preferably within an FMCG or retail environment.
\n\tSpecialist knowledge and experience in paint products and procurement.
\n\tSolid category-specific product knowledge with an interest in procurement will be considered.
\n\tStrong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage confidently and influence stakeholders at all levels.
\n\tAdvanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license and own reliable transport (required for travel).
\n\tWillingness to work long hours during peak times.\u00a0
